About Me

I'm a laid-back girl who's curios about the world and (like all of you guys) like to travel.
I finished school this summer and is taking a year (or two, let's just wait and see) off to work and travel before I start university or some other higher education.
I'm open-minded and outgoing and I enjoy spending time with good friends.

A few random facts: First thing I do in the morning is drinking a cup of coffee. There's nothing I hate more in the world than hard-boiled eggs. Instead I'm a big fan of cheese and dip (not together, though). I also never say no to bacon (have you tried it with chocolate? It's delicious!) I once had a pond tortoise.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an amazing opportunity to meet people from all over the world. It's a great way to travel and meet locals, and just a great way to experience a city or a country. I've only tried it once back in 2014 in Hamburg, Germany, as a part of an interrail-trip with a friend. It was a great experience, and I hope to use it much more during my upcoming adventure with another friend: 5-6 days in New York starting at the end of January 2017 and then 2 months in Central America, where we start our trip in Guatemala and end it in Costa Rica.

Interests

I've played soccer most of my childhood and I like sports in general.

I like books, movies, music, Netflix and all the other stuff you probably like too.

During the past years I've been involved in different projects about human rights, global development and the world's poorest. This is definitely something I'll keep working with in the future!

Music, Movies, and Books

There's so many great books out there. I recently enjoyed reading an Icelandic triology by Jón Kalman Stefánsson, but I don't know the English translation. Extremely rough, beautiful and poetic at the same time. I also recently read a Danish non-fiction book called "Do you see the moon, Daniel", which is about a young man from Denmark who's being taken hostage by ISIS.
Right now I'm reading a small book about ants from this Danish serie called Pause for Thought, which covers all kinds of themes from love to politics (and, yea, ants). Next book on my list is Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
A few of my all times favorite books are The Kite Runner and The Little Prince.

I like all kinds of movies. The theme of space-travelling and relative time has proven to be extremely interesting, where the best one I've watched so far is Interstellar. I also enjoy a good horror movie, but I'm easily being carried away by the mood (once I screamed so loud in the theater that everyone looked at me; and the really embarrassing part was that it was during the trailers - the real movie hadn't even begun! A bit embarrassing, and I really tried to be quiet the rest of the time (I succeeded in this by covering my eyes most of the times something was coming up), but it was also quite fun. I've never been a very big fan of action movies, but some have still positively surprised me. Also, I've never felt the urge to watch Star Wars and I probably never will.

Oh, and let's not forget the series: Dexter, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Orange is the New Black, Lie To Me, Scream, The 100, Blacklist, Hannibal, Between, 3%,Homeland, Gilmore Girls, Modern Family, How I met your Mother and probably a few more.

My taste in music covers a wide field. A few of the bands and artists I like are Green Day, Alt-J, Mads Langer and Lukas Graham. Right now I'm also listening a lot to this Danish singer called Steffen Brandt.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once dug a hole in Kyrgyzstan.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can play the basics on the guitar. If you haven't played much, I can probably teach you something.

I can also teach you a bit german if you're learning this wunderbar language.

Let me show you a few card tricks. Unfortunately I can't teach you anything in this category, because - let's just be honest - it's magic.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Let me cook you a Danish dinner! For example "frikadeller og kartofler" or "rød grød med fløde" (try to say this out loud). Maybe I could also bring some "rugbrød" (I bet you have never tasted it before)

I make a kick-ass mojito.
