CURRENT MISSION
Find my way. Free my heels.
ABOUT ME
I'm a French-Canadian student. I finished my master's degree in music history after four years studying in Paris. Now I want to go outside! I've worked on several horse farms in France, Canada and Iceland, so I'm kind of a farmer-traveller, trying to deal with this paradox.
Someone once told me that I was too childish and enthusiastic for them to bear. I took it as a compliment.
I can actually seem pretty quiet and very serious, since I'm an introvert, don't drink and don't like large groups and noisy parties. But once the shell is cracked, I'll be the one enjoying intensely every little thing and always seeing the good side of things. Unless I'm hungry. Then I can be a grumpy cat.
PHILOSOPHY
I keep snails and stick insects as pets. Enough said.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now, I surf and meet people where I travel. Can't host for now, but one day I'll have a big house in the country with a farm and many many guest rooms and I'll host allllll of you :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I followed my little brother when meeting a Couchsurfing friend for a stroll in snowshoes in the Alps. We had a great time sharing with this guy, we found a lot in common and ended up doing a terrific raclette in his old country house that looked like a castle but had no heating, gas nor hot water in the midst of winter, grilled marshmallows on the fire and piled up tons of quilts on the beds to (successfully) avoid freezing during the night. It gave me a taste of adventure, was very inspiring and encouraged me to try for more awesome meetings!
Then we went hiking with another guy in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was great too.
And then I went backpacking alone for three weeks in northern Europe. I had the chance to meet six awesome couchsurfing hosts, and converted at least three new persons to the community! It was an incredible experience and I came back home just wishing to travel like this forever.

Music, Movies, and Books
Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Molière, Racine, and let me think a bit longer for the rest.
Music from the Antiquity to february 1944, except for Wagner, Rousseau, Schütz, most of the 16th century, and clarinet. (No, just kidding. Clarinet is fine.)
Movies didn't exist in my time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Danced in the Château de Blois. Swam in the Mediterranean sea. Ate an insect big as my hand, being usually vegetarian. Hiked in the Lofoten, found a whale bone and sat IN it. Skied alone on a lake in Lapland in an endless sunset. Galloped across the woods in Normandy. Gathered sheep on horseback in Iceland, nearly died about fifty times, had a lot of fun. Camped outside on a -20˚C.
Teach, Learn, Share
Music (theory, history, too many instruments). French. I can help with basic horse riding. Cooking vegetarian food and desserts. Also I speak Icelandic.
I'd like to improve my climbing skills and practice any outdoor sport. The most adventurous, the best.
Also - I'm a Workawayer, so if you have a project or farm and need help for a longer stay, have a look at my profile and message me so that we can discuss about it! http://www.workaway.info/workawayerprofile.html?w=camillerondeau
