About Me

** Couchsurfers, please note that we are both currently flooded with work until April and might not be able to host a lot a people. Please don't be upset if we refuse your request. We will still try to host as many as we can. Back to normal in April!!**

Hi people!

My name is Camille, but for friends I am Camillou. I am french, but grew up in Spain, and I have been living in France, Australia, Chile, and Singapore.

In July 2014 I happily resigned from my job in Singapore and went on a 2 year backpacking-camping-hitchhiking trip through South America, mainly Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Uruguay.

I am a very open minded person, I like meeting new people, going out and having fun.
I love dancing salsa and I do macramé jewelry (waxed thread).

PHILOSOPHY

I think the best way to grow and to get maturity is travelling and learn about other cultures.

NOW
I met my boyfriend Travis while travelling through Chile, and we are now back to the work life, and chose to live in Tasmania. We are loving it here, it's so beautiful. We both want to give back the favour of hosting travellers. We have a nice house in West Launceston and are happy to receive travellers in our guest room.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I travelled around south america and had am amazing experience with couchsurfing, lots of nice people hosted me and that helped me a lot during my trip. Now that I am a little bit more settled in Launceston I want to return the favour!

Interests

I am a salsa lover, and I play the accordion. I would like to join a group, or play with other musicians, so if you are one, please contact me!!!!
I also do handcraft jewellery with waxed thread ("macramé") and semiprecious stones.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading, but generally I know about literature from Spain and south America: my favourite authors are Isabel Allende, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
Don't laugh, I like romantic movies, and I hate horror movies :-)
The most of the time, I listen to latin music, and my favourite is salsa music, I could stay hours and hours listening to salsa. I also listen a lot of music trying to modify it to play it with my accordion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have seen until now has been the Salar de Uyuni just after rainfalls (in march). It is more impressing than normally, the sky is reflected on the surface of the salty water, and you can't see the difference between the land and the sky, you thing you are in the clouds!!!!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be very happy to help people who would like to learn french or spanish (my two mother tongues), please tell me!

In disorder, I would like to learn scuba diving, portuguese, sign language, climbing... and open to any new idea!!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We have a guest room with a queen size bed, and plenty of more space if you are more than 2 people.
Happy to receive you! We love eating so we would be happy if you cook something from your country in exchange if you want! :)

Countries I’ve Visited
