About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keeping my eyes wide open and a gentle smile on my face!

ABOUT ME

In 2009, after finishing up my MSc studies in Montreal, I came back to Europe and signed a 4 year contract in Eindhoven for a PhD in Chemistry, where I did research on making plastics :)Since end of last year I moved to Italy for a new adventure. I now work in the R&D department of an Italian company: a whole new world. Last to do& discover!
In general, I am a happy person, flexible, curious and enthusiastic. I can also be totally lazy, sit in the sun and do nothing but smile. Sometimes I go crazy and start cooking for my friends (especially when I have had a couple of drinks :). I like having people around, make them feel at home, cook, play games. I also dream quite a lot, it's always fun to wake up and see what your brain has been working on while you were peacefully asleep...

PHILOSOPHY

Love or leave it
Nothing ventured, nothing gained

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to host people when possible, depending on the amount of things to do: the week-ends away, the job and other missions! But I really enjoy CS. Couch surfers have always been nice surprises and I'll do that as long as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting couch surfers, for me, is most of the time : share a nice dinner together and crazy stories about life, have a couple of beers, go around if time & weather allow... Always a good time, the more you do it, the more you want to do it again. You don't really know what to expect but it makes it fun.

Interests

As much as possible, I try to "extend my sphere of responsabilities": try and be a good human being, not judge and help/support, as much as possible. Basically, try to make the surroundings a more joyful place, locally, at my own little level at least... sometimes it works!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a terrible tendancy to fall asleep when I watch TV or even at the cinema...! But I am working on it! listen to a lot of music though (it can be Beirut, Radiohead, Aretha franklin, High tone, the Skatalites, la rue Ketanou, Paul Kalkbrenner, The Strokes, Buena vista social club, Dub incorporation, the Killers,Jacques Brel...different things, and love going to concerts.
I am also trying to read (other stuff than scientific papers!) to feed my imagination.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

went to Australia from 4 months when I was 15, definitely a trigger for many things like wanting to see what I can of the world and meet people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make an origami windmill, a ratatouille from the South of France, a bit of chemistry... and probably a few other tricks! (more or less useful :))
I'm willing to learn anything as long as we are having fun. I'm not the stubborn kind and I like discussing things. Maybe I can change my mind on this or that? Maybe it can have a very positive impact on my daily life?
