About Me

Hello there, my name is Camilo, I work as an English teacher and I have tons of interests.
I consider myself and introvert/extrovert person. I enjoy the pleasure of being on my own doing a peaceful activity such as reading a book or listening to music. Somehow, I also wake up in the morning willing to go out and meet new people to share and discover whatever it comes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsursing last year with the aim of meeting new friends just when I was planning my first european trip which was really brief. Now I'm preparing for a second and longer stay in Europe and I'm feeling like finding exciting places and people. My expectations are... to be as satisfied as to be willing to travel again.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music that has soul and emotion, mostly when it's original and influential. My taste can be considered as Indie/Alternative/Experimental, however I do like a lot some pop/rock music of nowadays.
My favorite artists/bands are:
Radiohead, Beck, PJ Harvey, Björk, Daft Punk, Portishead, Massive Attack, Boards of Canada, The Velvet Undrground, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, The Smiths, The Cure, Belle&Sebastian, Kings of Convenience, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Stereolab, Arcade Fire, among others.
It's not less important to mention how much I love Music Festivals.

I like independent films a lot, especially films by Wes Anderson, Xavier Dolan, Stanley Kubrick and Lars Von Trier.
More titles:
There will be blood, Lost in Translation, Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, The Doom Generation, Garden State, American Psycho, Little Miss Sunshine, Velvet Goldmine, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Into the Wild, Interstellar, and many others.

I'm still an amateur reader, somehow every book I've read so far has become part of my life,
they are: El Tunel, Niebla, En finir avec Eddy Bellegueule, MiddleSex, The Sound of Waves.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once got lost in Amsterdam after trying for the first time a coffee shop, it was my first time in the city and despite I was pretty stoned and confused I was able to come back the hostel succesfully.
Also, riding all the way from Rome up to the Vatican (being all clumsy and zig-zagging kind of rider)

Teach, Learn, Share

Mutual language teaching is cool!
I can share some inusual experiences of mine too, you could have a great laugh at them.
I can be a great listener or a talkative person, for me it's so important to compromise and understand other person, especially if you're coming from other part of the world.
My favorite subjects are phylosophy, psychology, music, films, politics and random facts of life. I might not be an expert on every topic but I do believe there's always something new you can learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share conversations and experiences. We can share some food, drink and music as well.
Sharing will always end up in good advice or something to be grateful for.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Netherlands, Paraguay, Spain, United States, Uruguay
