About Me

CURRENT MISSION

it is more about us than me...

ABOUT ME

I love having guests and to stay connected with the community of wanderers. You bring a vibrant energy into the apartment and my children's lives. Come with a bottle of wine, some good stories and you are more than welcome.

PHILOSOPHY

Cheshire Puss, Alice began, rather timidly. Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?

That depends a good deal on where you want to get to, said the Cat.

I don't much care where, said Alice so long as I get somewhere.

Oh, you're sure to do that, said the Cat, if you only walk long enough.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in Melbourne now and can provide a place to stay and a little local knowledge.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm been a CS host for a while and a hospitalityclub.org member/host since the start of 2007. We've had lots of people stay and really enjoyed it. The kids love getting out the atlas to see where everyone comes from. And I've made some really lovely friends.

Interests

Bay swimming, chanting, photography, hiking, sacred choral music, sleeping in, the tops of muffins, swimming, ortho-bionomy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Shantaram is still beside my bed and I am reading it for the third time, slowly. I love his florid use of language, outrageous but he makes it work brilliantly. Music: anything with a soul. Folk, classical, jazz. I spent Jan07 in Salzburg for the Mozart Woche. Fantastic. Just discovered the Cinematic Orchestra and Patrick Watson - love them. Movies: I tend to see too many children's films lately. I found UP (the Pixar animation) beautiful, wise and very moving. Encapsulated an entire life into a 10 minute montage beautifully.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one! Up till now walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela was the most life changing event in my life. And having two children. Watching them emerge into the world was the most awe inspiring and moving moment. Learning to be a supportive, brilliant father is the greatest challenge and reward in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you eternal enlightenment. Can you teach me to dance?
