About Me

I'm a 21 year old studio art student who has embarked on a grand (semester-long) adventure to the Netherlands with the intention of gaining a lot of wonderful life experience and attempting to fulfill some serious (and weirdly Law related) academic goals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on CouchSurfing because my ideal traveling situation would be to not only see the world, but also to have the opportunity to experience it from various cultural perspectives and meet amazing people along the way. I don't want to simply be a tourist, but an active participant in the places that I'm visiting, with the luxury of insight from someone who already knows the ropes.

Interests

I love painting and drawing and crafting and photographing and anything related to art, including viewing it.
- listening to music, especially live music, and discovering new music to love.
- watching pretty much any and every type of film - but especially those that force me to think.
- doing anything outside most of the time, especially getting lost in new places and exploring.
-good conversation with interesting people.
And well, I really really love to eat.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a fan of music from all different kinds of genres. I especially enjoy acoustic music with guitar and string instruments galore!
I'm pretty open when it comes to movies - I haven't had the chance to watch that many until recently but I've been exploring Wes Anderson, the Coen brothers, Quentin Tarantino, etc. recently and it's been quite a trip.
As far as books go, reading is one of my favorite things but I haven't had the chance to read very many things outside of legal studies related things since I started university. I'm a huge fan of poetry with Neruda-esque styles and philosophical exerts that are similar to those by Roland Barthes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Opting to spend 5 months in the Netherlands is probably one of the most amazing things I've done thus far because I come from a small town in Tennessee, and until very very recently, I was very comfortable remaining within the confines of my comfort zone.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can't really list specific things to teach, learn, or share off of the top of my head, but I'm all about gaining and sharing new perspectives on life, love, and happiness.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Spain
