À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
relax and experience the god's kindness.
ABOUT ME
Pescatarian/Vegetarian foodie, DMV Native. I'm going to be a midwife someday and I can't wait.
I'm African-American and I've only recently started exploring my ancestry. I'm so proud of what I'm uncovering. For me it's truly two identities balled up into one so it's quite dialectical. Learning about the similar struggles of people from different backgrounds/communities/countries has afforded me a humanist mentality.
I live off of sunlight and really struggle with the cold.
So as to finish on a positive note: I really enjoy cooking, setting a dinner table and calling together friends over to enjoy the fruits of my/our labor.
PHILOSOPHY
You can do everything you want, just not all at once.
Everything in moderation. Even moderation.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hope to host one day in the future, but I don't currently have a couch to offer.
So right now, I'm trying out the surfing side. I look forward to taking a few pointers from my hosts on how to make people feel welcome and at home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had some phenomenal hosts in Oakland, CA but I haven't couchsurfed since. Looking forward to meeting some more incredible people.
Centres d'intérêt
Women's reproductive health: this is what I study, but it's so much more than an academic pursuit to me.
Snapshot of a great day: I would spend the early morning hours being still outdoors, the afternoon, running (errands)/being mobile, the evening, reading/meeting strangers at a cafe or used bookstore, and the night cooking food and enjoying it with friends. C'mon, does it get better than that!
I LOVE walking... Something about the idea (and practice) of using one's body as a means of reliable transportation is so incredible. I'm like surprised every time I'm reminded of this. I feel so blessed to have two functioning legs and feet!
I really enjoy tea, olive oil, and arugula. I'd love to converse with anyone who thinks of themselves as an expert on any of these "luxuries."
Attending concerts: I'm beginning to care less and less about who the featured artist is. I only say this because I've noticed that regardless of how much I pay, or who is on stage, if I'm with the right people and music is playing, I'm guaranteed to have a brilliant time.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Eavesdropping at a cafe, on the train, or while waiting in line, you realize what these strangers are saying is EXACTLY what you needed to hear in that moment.
Perfect timing.
Studying with indigenous midwives in the Amazon.
