About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To share my culture, learn about other cultures, meet unique people and laugh often!!
ABOUT ME
My husband and I are 46 years old, no children, but enjoy children. We have 2 dogs, and live a 1/2 hour outside of Ottawa. We have travelled across Canada, lived in various provinces and are pretty easy going. We have also travelled quite a bit internationally (see map). We enjoy meeting new people, sharing cultures, and returning the hospitality we have experienced so often while travelling. We have lots of interests so we find we are compatible with most people!
PHILOSOPHY
the "Golden Rule" to be kind to others and treat people with the same respect you expect to receive. Do not judge others and try to put yourself in their shoes to understand their perspectives etc.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
we are willing to host people and hope to be hosted at times when we travel.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We are new to Couchsurfing, but have had good experiences with Hospitalityclub. We were very impressed that some people allowed us to stay in their home even when they were not there, however we are honest and trustworthy, we would never take anything, and treat other people's property with the same respect we have for our own.
Interests
SO many different interests, including sports (swimming, badminton, curling, figure skating, baseball, etc and watch many others) We enjoy outdoors, hiking, fishing, camping, boating, cycling, horseback riding, etc etc... I enjoy gardening, baking, cooking, reading, music, Don used to play accordian! he still plays the spoons pretty good!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
there have been so many things its hard to list them all - we can compare when we meet! =)
unplanned and spontaneous usually leave the most lasting memories! =)
*lowered into the ice storage facilty in Tuktoyuktuk chiseled out of permafrost, living with and learning from Inuit & native cultures in northern Canada. Don policed 5 years in northern Canada. He was also on the RCMP musical ride touring Canada and the USA.
I am spontaneous & adventurous so in each country I have been able to have great experiences with the locals and see unique things.
I like to try local foods when travelling so have eaten some unique things - sheep head, eye, testical, cow udder, brain, muktuk, Icelandic preserved shark... etc
