CURRENT MISSION

To push my comfort zone and gain independence. I want to grow into someone that has many perspectives on the world we share, I think the only way to do that is to see all I can. To take in each moment for what it is, and learn from those moments.

ABOUT ME

I am a pretty out going person, I try to always be really up beat. A bad attitude never helps any situation. I am often described and laid back, really chill. Definitely not dramatic, I never see the point of starting something stupid. I am however very theatrical, I love dramatic arts and music. I try to stay active and eat healthy, but I will never say no to chocolate or dessert. My family means the world to me and I was raised with a lot of respect for others and an open mind to all kinds of people.
And for the record, my name is pronounced Kate, not Katie, it doesn't bother me much, but a lot of people have been asking.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that everyone should get a second chance, everyone makes mistakes, and we should not hold that ageist someone. But we do have to learn from those mistakes so we’re not always making the same ones. To grow as a person you have to push yourself in all ways, I am not content with a stagnate life. Everyone should be respected and heard, we are all humans sharing this world. Lastly, we need to distress our lives. People these days are far too high stung. Take a minute and just love life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will always try something new, I will try anything once. I am starting to become more of an adrenaline junky, because that rush is amazing. Pushing your comfort zone is the only way to grow as a person. I was in a drama program though out my life, so I have no problem making a fool of myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far all the people I have met have been amazing! I feel like I have learnt so much in the short time I've been surfing.
I can not wait to open my home and host great people.

Interests

Food and wine, I love to bake, muffins are my favorite. History and culture, one of my favorite things when I was in Vietnam and Cambodia was all history I got to see. I really love the architecture of older cities. I love art, theater and local music. Always looking for some adventure and odd, off beat things to see or do. And every so often I will curl up with a good book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was camping in the foot hills of Alberta, everyone else has gone to bed, I was waiting up for the fire to burn down. A thunderstorm was coming in, but it wasn’t raining yet. Every time there was a lighting flash, it lit up the whole landscape. It was the most beautiful and humbling moments of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am really good at baking, it is a passion of mine for sure. I am a horrid cook though, I burn things often and over season a lot, so that is something I would like to learn. I have a lot of knowledge in health and fitness world, I would be more than willing to help people with diet plans or how to do different exercises.
