Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I will totally go on that ridiculous adventure you're planning. And if your adventure happens to pass through my town, I think you should have a proper home-cooked meal.
Interests
Massive dinner parties, learning what makes others' hearts beat a little bit louder, mountain-climbing, camping out in the middle of nowhere, moments of sudden connection, art galleries, bicycles bicycles bicycles, history and most other stories people know, sunsets and moonrises, bottomless views, the things that can't be bought or sold, and the inexpressible finding its way of being expressed.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can never say no to the GREAT WORKS section at the bookstore. Russian writers have changed my life (from Bunin, Turgenev, Lermontov, Dostoevsky and well beyond), Kundera and Gabriel Garcia Marquez got me through my university years, British poetry got me through the Moscow winter, and right now Plato and Nietzsche are weighing down my brand new bookshelf. (Who else loves the possibilities of a brand new bookshelf!)
Music -- grew up on punk rock, dove into underground electronic, and then shifted right over to classical. In Athens though, I'll take anything you can either dance to or listen to astounded.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm really hungry to learn any-/everything practical recently. Tolstoy gave up writing to make shoes for a couple of years... I'm halfway there, maybe. Need some help building a house? Planting this year's crop? Sailing to another country? 'Cuz I wanna learn.
On my side I can fix a bike with you, bake an amazing chocolate zucchini cake, or try to make a tree-fort. Or at the very least a hammock with some blankets and pillows around to resemble a fort.
Plus, all those liberal arts years spent thinking and reading mean I can probably tell some pretty cool stories about art history or analyse a sonnet with you. Really, I practically do it for a living.
Countries I’ve Lived In
