About Me
Hello there! (Star Wars mentioned xD)
I'm Candan, and I'm 23 years old. Currently, I'm in Portugal for a volunteering project. In my free time, I explore and meet new friends. So far, I have enjoyed the vibe and the weather here! Many kind people have surrounded me, and I’m so glad that I have this opportunity. I think it is the best season to be here, and I want to see many places, so my friend and I started to explore together! In every place I've traveled, I've created wonderful memories thanks to the people I met. That's why I love this platform and want to share my travels on it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Back in high school, I was really into collecting postcards and sending letters to faraway places. It felt like a magical way to connect with the world. Then, this hobby led to an amazing adventure. Now I see those places I admired on postcards are within my reach!! That's why I joined Couchsurfing. It's like a door to extraordinary experiences. Hanging out with locals and making new friends is the best way to get to know a place truly. I hope to see each location through the eyes of those who live there.
As I start this journey, my goal is to turn those postcard pictures into real-life memories. I want to have fantastic stories to share and cherish, and I believe I'm in the perfect place to make it happen :)

Music, Movies, and Books
"Karma Police" by Radiohead is my constant road trip soundtrack, and I absolutely love it. In general, my music tastes are a mixture, spanning from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Lana Del Rey, Nothing But Thieves, Rammstein, Iron Maiden, Taylor Swift, Twenty-One Pilots, and Hozier.
I'm a sitcom lover, enjoying "Modern Family," "The Office," and currently, "Family Guy." I'm also drawn to animations (Kung Fu Panda is my fav!).
Books like "When Nietzsche Wept" and "Fahrenheit 451" have significantly impacted my reading journey. Now I hate to admit but I don't read a lot (I need to change this with the new year goals xD)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once volunteered for online music theory workshops for kids. It was a heartwarming experience, connecting with them and fostering their love for music. Teaching wasn't just about sharing knowledge; it was a two-way connection. I found joy in their enthusiasm and curiosity, and it reminded me of the power of education to inspire young minds. This experience left me fulfilled and reminded me that even small efforts can make a big impact on a child's life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to play some basic songs on guitar! And also, I can teach some basic modular origami. I would love to learn anything you can show me :)
