Overview
About Me
I'm Candela, from Argentina! I lived most of my life in my hometown, then moved to Germany, then back to Argentina and now to the south of Spain. Somedays it's a bit too hot here.
I'm currently working as a researcher at the Universidad de Alicante, and studying to get a PhD. Groundwater is my thing.
I'm interested in nature, history, languages, culture, food (a lot, vegetarian), music. I enjoy learning about any subject and sharing an interesting conversation, even better with a radler in between! A great day can be a walk through a forest as well as spending countless hours in a museum. A bad day wound be probably on a farm since I have a terrible cow phobia. Flexible, curious, open-minded, except when it comes to cows and raisins. Oddly attracted to public transport and insects photography.
Currently learning croatian to reconnect with my roots. Ako govorite hrvatski, dobrodošli!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I think that staying in the house of a local inhabitant makes a trip a much more enriching experience. In addition, it is proof that to travel and learn you only need motivation and a bit of human generosity, which in the end is surprisingly not that hard to find.
At the moment I sadly cannot host since I live in a shared flat, hopefully someday I'll have my own place. You'll for sure be welcome!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music? J-rock, kpop, dubstep, classic, pop, rap, latin, yes, even reggaeton if I'm on the mood. I like to discover new artists and styles.
Screens? LOTR, anime, Rick and Morty, Nolan films, I've seen Shrek more times than I can count. Anything is fine with the right amount of boredom. I also love watching sports. But not golf.
Books? J. Katzenbach, King, Rowling, Tolkien (again), cheesy romantic novels, tons of scientific papers, pretty much everything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Working as a babysitter. I never felt so outside of my comfort zone.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Knowledge about our planet and how it works, a lot of (usually bad) jokes, I speak gladly about politics, science, nature, phylosophy, beliefs and life itself. Silence is also not a bad plan at all. Sharing makes us grow.
Since I might share someone's space, I can naturally cook, clean and help with other houschores, always with a respectful attitude.
