CURRENT MISSION
To travel deep and wide...
ABOUT ME
I recently returned to the states after living in Senegal, West Africa for the last two years. I worked in Senegal as a Peace Corps volunteer living in the Kaolack region. I lived without electricity or running water in a small village named Diagle. I met my husband in Senegal. His name is Ablaye. He is from Kaffrine, Senegal and has a bachleor's degree in Accounting and Finance. He recently moved to the states with me and we were married here on Sept 4, 2010.
PHILOSOPHY
I love traveling and meeting new people. I have learned to try everything atleast once and only say no when absolutely necessary!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Ablaye and I participate in couch surfing by hosting and surfing. We welcome anyone passing through our area. We live in Tuba City, AZ, which is small but a good place to stop in to learn about Navajo culture. Tuba City is just about an hour north or Flagstaff and an hour and a half from the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Ablaye and I are willing to show you around town if we have time!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have had great experiences with couchsurfing; however, I am a little annoyed by parts of it. It is sometimes very difficult to surf. Sometimes I catch myself sending out tens and tens of requests everytime we want to surf somewhere. I am a little saddened that so many people comepletely ignore couch requests.
Interests
We are interested in other religions, cultures, languages, etc. We are a bi-racial couple from two totally different countries, religions, languages, and cultures. We love documentaries, learning, cooking/eating, and doing everything we can to save the environment. We are interested in second hand EVERYTHING. We like nice stuff (being stylish, having fancy house decorations, art, etc) but also like to help conserve the environment by buying things at thrift shops, Goodwill, and yard sales. We like people who are open-minded and easily accept others. We are very easy-going!
