I'm Can.

I was born and raised in Antalya, enriched by Mediterranean culture, and have been living in Istanbul, Turkey's most vibrant and energetic city, for a few years now. I am a photography and video instructor nourished by visual arts. My passion for visual arts makes my life in this city enjoyable both professionally and personally.

I can never describe myself precisely because I am constantly learning and growing. However, I carry the colorful and lively essence of Mediterranean culture within me, reflecting its warmth and sincerity in my daily life. I am someone who has embraced the lively and dynamic energy of Istanbul, enjoying a tastefully modest lifestyle amidst the blend of history and modernity.

In my spare time, I love to visit cultural and art events, go to theater and concerts, read about psychology, philosophy, literature, and art criticism, wander the endless streets of this city taking photos and videos, and discover hidden, pleasant, and quiet cafes and bars. I am interested in sports like yoga, rowing, archery, and basketball. I am a music lover; I enjoy listening to records, buying new ones for my collection, and constantly introducing new music to my loved ones.

Through Couchsurfing, traveling and meeting new people is the best way to discover different cultures and perspectives, thus becoming a global citizen. In my peaceful and comfortable small apartment in the Idealtepe district, close to the sea and very near to Istanbul's islands, I always have room for open-minded, curious, and sharing guests.
