About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get rid of facebook and never touch it anymore!!! (Hard, hard.. its a dangerous and adictive crap...)

ABOUT ME

Two years ago my classmates and I were forced to do a little story of our lives in front of everyone, the goal of that being to know eatch other better. But at the end everybody was crying and shivering and telling us all the drama of there lives (many of these stories were really terrible) and since then I came very uncomfortable with this few words: A description of yourself: ALL about you. But I will try to do it short and sweet. Ok, Im quite a simple girl who likes simple pleasures. I love good food, good company, good days and just to wake up in a wonderful sunny day is delicious (kitsch, I know, but that the way it is) I like sports but you will never ever see me in a gym as I like pleasant things. I love rock climbing, hiking in mountains, scuba diving because these are cool things to do for fun and not only to stay in shape. I like to meet new people and to be lost in new places: I think that hanging around in a new country soooo different that what you ve seen before is just the most thrilling feeling reachable. Im a good student and I really enjoy studying but I don't see the point to become manic two weeks before exams. Childhood might have been too soft for me as Im still on my easy-going way of life. HUm.. what else? I love reading, Im learning russian, I travelled most of Central america, Europe, Canada and South east asia, I worked in Scotland and Im a grano type of girl who spent far less time in the bathroom every morning than my flat mate, which is a guy. And thats pretty much it.

PHILOSOPHY

Stop, Think and Act. Thats the EFR (emergency first response) motto, but I get a more generalist conception. When I see people running for the subway and looking so mad that they seems to be able to throw their coffe on you if you look at them too much, I think: Stop, Think and Act. Go home today, take time with your family or take a nice walk outside, breath a bit. Choose life, don't be swalloed by it. Keep on rocking in the free world!(that its Neil Young, not me)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travelled with my friend Ariane, who was already a couchsurfer and she included me in this when we were together in London. To say the truth, I first found couchsurfing very convenient as London isn't the cheapest place I have ever been.... and that was certainly good news for my budget. But we met charming people, and I discovered that you can't say: I visited this place if you never soaked yourself in the everyday life of its inhabitants. For me, London is more then the Parlement, London eye, the Tower, Soho, Buckignam palace, Camden market, etc., its also John, the welcoming History teacher, Rafael, the ambassador of Guatemala, Dan and Robin, the sympathic Canadian couple, ... I think that couchesurfing is an amazing opportunity for travellers to really immerse in another culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

HUm well... I listed them just before. Jonh Wright, Rafael, Dan and Robin.. all from London.

Interests

Books, Travels of course, Scuba diving, Rock climbing, hiking... (any outdoor activities), History, Countryside (I like to visit cities but I would never live in), apple crumbles, just apples, oh! afternoon naps, english black tea with milk.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS: A fine balance(Mistry); Pillars of earth (Folett); Le nom de la Rose (Umberto Eco); Russel Bank; Michel Tremblay, Different seasons (S. King), etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) Hike Mt Washington in a freezing cold, raining winter day, anything but well prepared, and end that not so fun trip with a free night on top in the DANGER/PRIVATE/STAFF ONLY/DO NOT ENTER!!! building which was (miraculously!) unlock. And that saved us.

2) Cycling in Phom Penh, Cambodia(one of the most stressing experience of my life)

3) Walk on top of an active volcano was nice

4) Walking around alone in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, by night (not so recommended)
