ABOUT ME

Im a 50 y.o. guy, but very youthful in all ways, and I live myself near Heathrow in west London. Note that i am about 13 miles from central London, and I my home not be suitable to all couchsurfers wanting to visit the city as im in the suburbs of London. If you have time it may be good to check out my location first, but mNy past couchsurfers have been fine with it. The Piccadilly Underground Line is nearby and getting to Leicester Square takes about 45 minutes. I'm always up for a laugh and some good fun with nice guys there. I'm into media news quite a bit, and I stay in touch will all the latest technology trends and media news, especially about broadcasting, the internet and the press. I love chatting on the phone and instant messengers (so IM me for a chat!), and going to the cinema occasionally.

PHILOSOPHY

I've learnt a lot in life. For me and others that I meet, the more you get to know me (and want to) the more you'll get from me. I take life at face value, and so I present myself at face value, so the more you believe you'll like me, and show an interest, the more it should be returned to you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I previously sought to host as many couchsurfers as possible at some times to give a free space overnight. People often ask me how many times I have hosted now, and while I havent counted them, it must be with about 60 or so guests now. Despite this I've only actually surfed likeky 4 times now,in Brighton, England, at a visit for a conference, and in Spain and with a little luck!

Its been so good for me thats its difficult to describe. With almost every guest I host, I learn new and admirable things, ways of living my life and characteristics of life all the time. I have also met not 1, but 2 couchsurfers at my place, both of whom, Shenol and Liam had the exact same birthday as me - 17th August! They are such good friends - and awesome guys!! How it happens, can feel magical when it does, so no complaints from me.
Also ,some folk you meet are such direct hits and similar people to yourself, its sooo good to meet them. Here you can meet the types of people you really want to and it can stretch your horizons. People can choose to stay with you based on your profile and interests, and if they like it, WOW!, so heres to many more great times with more surfers, and hosts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The riskiest time I spent was maybe when I was younger in 1986, I worked in an education project for deprived families in Glasgow. We went away for a weeks 'working holiday', and I had a job, in itself trying out such things like Abseiling, Rock Climbing, Hill walking, and Canoeing at a place called Lake Faskally near Pitlochry in Scotland. It was a trying week and my first time in the Highlands of Scotland with fantastic, unforgettable scenery too.

Teach, Learn, Share

I look at all options available by life's problems and often work with the most efficient or sturdy one. I find myself often asked for advice publicly, even when abroad and asked in foreign languages that i can't understand. I can give tips and guidance here or there for life (even if its only for travelling around London!) and you'd maybe be guaranteed in some ways to receive a different perspective from me on many things.
Surprisingly, one of the notebale things people see me as is from Scotland! Many, many couchsurfers who have surfed my couch have if not just expressed an interest in going there, but actually going anyway, its much better than London in some ways and quieter and much more scenic too. May be a part of Britain that some forget about, and it makes me proud to inspire some people to go and visit.
