About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

because there are still many people to meet and places to visit.

Interests

  • languages

Music, Movies, and Books

-Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Nina Simone, Cesaria Evora, Gal Costa, Maria Bethânia, Novos Baianos, Caetano Veloso, Chico Buarque, Otto...
These guys and their songs definitely brought different meanings to my life. The list is actually endless and I'm always willing to expand it :)

-Some films should be mandatory. I'll just say some random ones.. Annie Hall and Whatever works by Woody Allen, The Edukators, De Rouille et D'os, Polisse, Medianeras, Valentin, Inglorious Bastards, La piel que habito and Los Amantes Pasajeros by Almodovar, Nymphomaniac, L'auberge Espagnol (and the 2 following ones). And so many more :)

-I don't read as often as I would like to, but some books/writers played an important role in making me interested in reading more, such as Cândida Erendira (Gabriel Garcia Marquez), Ensaio sobre a Cegueira (José Saramago), The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Milan Kundera), Steppenwolf (Hermann Hesse), Budapeste (Chico Buarque) - this book is rather special to me, for it made me dream about a city that years later I had the chance to visit, Manuel Bandeira and Leminski - two brazilian poets I 'm really fond of.

PS.: It's not fair not to mention some people/music/film/books, but I guess this topic is already too long/boring to read, sorry :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some few stories to tell, but not that incredibly adventurous.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you are interested in learning Portuguese, even though it is not Portuguese from Brazil, maybe I could help you out. I tried to teach languages in different times of my life, and it’s always been a great exchange. I do love grammar (for some people, that could be considered a mental disorder though), different accents and expressions.

All in all, I’m really passionate about learning languages, so you could also teach me something about yours :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
