Overview
About Me
I'm a free spirit who loves to travel and gets to know other people and their stories. I graduated from UNC Charlotte with degrees in Psychology and Management.
I recently moved to London and I am a graduate student studying Business Intelligence and Analytics, also working as a strategy consultant in Central London. Since I've moved to new places so many times, I started liking new beginnings and new people. I'm open to making new friends and making memories with them and discover the city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend of mine who does couch surfing told me great stories about his experiences and it really made me want to join. Couch surfing and platforms like this shows that there are some people who genuinely want to help each other and get to know one another. It's nice to know that some people managed to differentiate themselves from our money-driven society.
Interests
I love watching TV shows, reading books while drinking tea, cooking all kinds of food, and going for walks. I love going to shows as well, I love living in London now because of all the concerts and festivals I get to go. I love travelling more than anything and discovering new restaurants, bars, museums.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I listen to pretty much anything except Country and Punk. There are some exceptions to this statement. I like Indie, Alternative, Classic Rock, New Wave, Synthpop, etc.
Movies: I have a letterboxd profile where I try to keep a record of all the movies I watch but I am terrible at it. I still have a bunch of movies and ratings on there if you wanna check it out: https://letterboxd.com/callmefrieda/films/diary/
Books: Gone Girl- Gillian Flynn, Ham on Rye- Charles Bukowski, The Bell Jar- Sylvia Plath, 1984- George Orwell, In the Time of the Butterflies- Julia Alvarez
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was a part of the Istanbul Gezi Park protests back in 2013. During the day, we would build barricades and chant and do bunch of demonstrations and get teargassed from the police and sleep at a place we could find from Twitter at night. We also hosted protesters who needed a place to sleep because it would get really dangerous to be outside after a certain time. I remember drinking tea and watching the news with a room full of people I just met, and I don't think I've ever felt more alive. I think Gezi Park protests were one of the most memorable things in the recent history of Turkey and I am happy I was a part of it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will definitely make some Turkish Coffee (i'll bring the stuff). I can teach some easy Turkish words, and share some of my knowledge about my home country. I also traveled a lot during my years in the United States, so I have a lot of stories to share!
