ABOUT ME

Hi!
I'm Prisca and i'm 24 years old.
I'm French, but I moved to London two years ago. I love it! I'm living in a house with 3 awesome flatmates(A couple from Poland and an Australian guy!) and I met some lovely friends!

I was born and i grew up in Essonne, a region in Paris' suburb. I've always been surrounded by my big family (my mother,1 brother and 1 sister, 4 uncles and aunts, my grandparents, around 15 cousins!!). My mother was born in Martinique (French Caribbean), she raised my brother, sister and I by herself, she is a strong woman and I admire her.

Leaving France wasn't easy for me, mostly because of my family. But I wanted to live differently and to meet different people. So after I got my degree from University I decided to move to London!
Why London?
Because, first, it's situated in an English speaking country and I wanted to practice my English.
Secondly, it's a very dynamic city where you can meet people from all over the world.
Moreover, it's really easy and cheap to travel from here!
And the last but not the least, it was my dream to live here!
So now I'm working in a restaurant while studying translation English-French.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in karma: when you do good things, good things happen to you and when you do bad things...

I believe, as well, that if you have positive thoughts you can do anything ! You just have to believe in yourself!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed three times already! And they have been really been good experiences! I met lovely and friendly people in Morocco, Sicily (Italy) and Fuerteventura (Canary islands, Spain).
Those people made me see their country differently, from their point of view that I wouldn't have discovered if I had gone to a hotel. And I'm really grateful for that.
I think that it's a very interesting concept and a lovely way to meet people and share with them your culture, beliefs and experiences.

Interests

I like to read (especially novels), I like soul music, R'n'B, 60's rythm and blues, salsa( I would like to learn how to dance it!),zouk(obviously),Kizomba(still learning),dancehall, rap, pop... yeah i love music!!
I like to watch movies, to go out with my friends, to go shopping, I'm crazy about food, I really love to eat ( especially my grandmother's caribbean food!). I like learning new languages, thanks to my work colleagues and my flatmates I know a bit of Polish and I can understand Spanish.
I like to spend time with my family. As I'm living abroad it's rare but I'm calling them at least twice a week!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think that my first big moment was when I moved to London. It's been such a big step in my life: leaving mum's house and live on my own in a big city. I've met amazing people here that changed my views on life and helped me grow up as a person...
The second big moment of my life is my first couchsurfing experience! It was in Morocco, travelling around the country, and I was a bit anxious and not really convinced by the concept. But this first trip as a couchsurfer amazed me! People we met there were so nice and warm they welcomed us in their house and shared their food, experiences and life with us. Some of them even introduced us to their families! I was with a friend called Emilia(she talked to me about couchsurfing) and we had so much fun! I particularly liked Rabat, this coast city is really gorgeous with its bright blue and white houses and its view on the sea. It was a wonderful experience in a beautiful country and I'll never forget it!
