Reciprocity

ABOUT ME

I grew up on the Oregon coast in a house my parents built in about 1981. I love living in Oregon. I have travelled a bit, but I would like to see more of the world. I studied anthropology because I believe that understanding and appreciating people for who they are and what they value is essential. I love music and food. The colors and textures of food are wonderful to observe and tasting is a bonus. Music is an incredible medium for expression and interaction. I love nothing more than playing music on the beach. I like to think of everything as an opportunity for something. I implore everyone to remember to observe, appreciate, and respect nature. I love to share things/experiences with people. Collaboration is a beautiful thing.

PHILOSOPHY

Transcendentalism. I would say that's as close as I can get. I find Thoreau to be very inspiring in his appreciation for nature. I don't know at this point where this life will take me, but I hope to bring an appreciation for nature along for the ride.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I look forward to hosting people and aid them in their experience of the world. I became interested in this program in part due to the generosity of a family in Scotland who hosted my friend and me in december 2008. They showed us around, took care of us when we got sick and drove us to the airport at an ungodly hour. All they accepted in return was our thanks. I feel forever indebted to the CS community because of this and I hope to do whatever I can to help others through this program.

I would love to talk about and better understand everyone's perspective. I play the washboard and would love to share it with others. I love to share everything, though I would prefer that it be returned in one piece.
