Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I know the Cape really well. If you ever come to Cape Town, feel free to contact me. I'll show you around, introduce you to my friends etc.
Helped to organize the first Cape Town Amazing Race event.
Interests
I'm interested in a lot of stuff, especially traveling and hiking, meeting new people and sharing travel stories.
I've also got this incredible interest in the Victorian era for some reason. Not really sure why. Love almost everything about it.
Also really interested in dreams, especially lucid dreaming.
Furthermore I'm interested in architecture, movie directors, music, how London connects overland, photography, wine, and Japan.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love movies. I love chatting about them and reading up on them. I especially love Independent and Art films. Also love sci-fi and British comedy.
I'm a bit of a music addict. Listen on average about 8 hours of music a day while driving, gymming and working.
I'm mainly into modern rock (Muse, The Decemberists etc) and it's thousands of sub-genres, including indie rock, space rock, alternative rock, experimental rock.
Oddly enough, I'm really not into old rock music.
I also love Progressive Trance, like Tiesto and Ferry Corsten. Love the dream quality of it.
Got a lot of respect for singer/songwriters (Damien Rice, Tom Mcrea) and thus listen to them as well.
Classical music is also appreciated.
Now onto books. When I'm in the reading phase, I read A LOT. I sometimes go for months without reading and then suddenly I binge on it for months.
I used to love Fantasy novels, but then David Eddings pretty much killed that genre for me. Now I'm into contemporary fiction. I love realistic books that deal with character development.
Favorite authors include Murakami, Kazuo Ishiguro, David Mitchell, Ian McEwan
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing, and manipulating, a circular rainbow on top of Chapman's Peak in Cape Town.
Cycling to Cape Point from Sea Point and taking the train back to town.
3 day canoeing trip down the Orange River in Namibia. Covered 75kms and was almost washed away by the river on the first night.
Hiking up to the highest point of Miyajima Island in Japan.
Explored Antoni Gaudi's architecture in Barcelona.
Cycled around Agistri Island in Greece.
2 day hiking/camping trip from Ronda, Spain to the surrounding white villages. Covered about 40 kms
