About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live on as little as possible and still think life to be awesome!
ABOUT ME
Grew up appreciating the outdoors, spent most of the last 9 years living on my family's 200 year old homestead in the Adirondacks of New York. Got pretty serious about gardening and now grow much of our staples for the year, all by hand and back. My affinity for human power sprouted from a couple car-less years in which I formed a lasting friendship with bicycles, and have traveled long distances on them since. Now I'm an avid mountain biker and am always eyeing the land for future trails. I tinker with brewing and distilling, play banjo and guitar, and try to read more than I have been.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't sweat anything, it all works out if you're not a raging asshole about everything. Don't take everything that is said to heart, because 90% of the time it's not said from the heart. Everybody just needs to get down to business and stop worrying so much about life and just start living it. Drink water, eat fruit, chill out. Sounds easy, right? Heh..
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I exchange the ultimate hospitality that I would hope to receive when out and about and promote good will and trust amongst all travelers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's so much better when somebody instantly offers up their couch even if you're nowhere near them, then having to haggle somebody nearby to even crash on their floor. Before joining CS I surfed couches in Belgium, a full out apartment in Spain, a basement recliner in Missouri, and even the floor of my own home when the beds were full. So far I have officially "surfed" with members in Vermont, Ohio, Missouri, Colorado, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Maine, Tennessee, Netherlands, Montreal and hosted many folks from 'round here and abroad

DIY stuff
I love movies. No discretion.
I tend to only read books that I benefit in learning from. I guess that's fairly all inclusive. What I really like is a good STORY, a thing that is harder to find now as we drown our lives in the mundane world of technological observance and placid obedience.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went outside late one night during a full moon and half the sky was cloudy and raining, while the moon's half was clear, so on the rainy side I could see a moon-made rainbow, except instead of color it was in grayscale. That's right, a rainbow in the dark. Hear that Dio?
Teach, Learn, Share
How to build an earthen oven, bake pizza and bread in it. Build a sweat lodge or any kind of small building for that matter. Survive in the woods. Fix a bike. Shoot a gun. Field dress and butcher small and large game. The best music you'll hear this side of the earth.
I'm always looking to learn advanced gardening techniques, auto-repair and anything you are impassioned about.
