ABOUT ME

Born and raised in France, I moved some 15 years ago to Greece where I live now (well, when I am not travelling abroad i.e i'm here 3-4 months/year).

I am divorced and have two children. I am working as a seaman, so I can spend long periods away and when I come back I have a very close relationship with my kids, almost passionate.

I am a social drinker, can spend months without a drink or drink a lot if I have a good company.

Not a very active person, I don't talk much but I am proud to say that I know how to listen.

PHILOSOPHY

I've never been quite a philosophe, that might be a philosophical position.
I don't read newspapers nor watch TV, that is my way to get real information.
I don't believe in any god or divinity, you can see it as a religious position
I have never voted, that is a political position

Generally speaking, I found out that by NOT doing some things I act better, by NOT thinking too much I think better and that by NOT taking decisions I choose better.

Let things come to you, anyway it is for good.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Historical couchsurfing

My family was a "levantine" family, french but living so long in Istanbul they had few to do with France. They had this big summer house in Kandili, on the asian side of the Bosphorus where they used to gather with all cousins, friends, etc.
One day, I think in was in the 20's, a traveller passed-by and saw all these people eating in the garden. Believing he found a nice local restaurant he sat and ordered food. He got well treated and when he finished to eat and he wanted to pay, everybody bursted out laughing with the joke they had done.

Interests

Bored by the green, I'm amazed by the blue. When I'm not working on ships I will be laying on beach or sailing a boat, but don't expect me to be dealing with mountains or fields, too much dirt... And please don't ask me to meet farmers, I prefer the company of fishermen.

I like cooking (and eating too). I'm more at ease with french and greek cookings, of course, but can always try to do something else. Had very good culinary surprises in China, Italy or Lebanon but always managed to eat well wherever I go (even in less gastronomic places like USA or Norway).

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies, books and music are an integral part of my life. I spend 6 months per year at sea in their company.

And you will see also that at home there is always music and books everywhere, simply cannot live without it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having two children and trying to make them as happy as possible is surely the most incredible thing i am doing.
