ABOUT ME

I'm outgoing and talkative. I really love good conversations with interesting people. I want to learn about different people and the things they've experienced. I love the idea of hosting couch surfers, because I had such a blast meeting so many people when I couch surfed.

I'd like to think I'm funny. I'm super nerdy. I love playing games of all kinds, video games, board games, card games, tabletop RPGS, etc. I'm a 420 enthusiast, and love meeting like-minded people.

My personal philosophy can be summed up in one line: Treat others the way you want to be treated.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I first used couch surfers after losing my job in California and having to roadtrip back home to Ohio. I met alot of really amazing people. All were incredibly generous and went above and beyond what the average person will do for a complete stranger. It literally moved me. After losing my job, my apartment, and my friends in California, the kindness of these strangers restored my faith in humanity.

Over a year later, I finally have my own apartment so now I can pay that forward. I want to make memorable evenings for the people who stay on my couch. I can't wait to start!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've loved every couch surfing experience I've had. I was served an ass kicking in Halo by some college kids in Arizona. I got to meet a great family with a pet duck in Louisiana. I commiserated our job losses with an awesome artsy kid in Texas and his hilarious roommate. Every couch surfing experience I've had has been one of my favorite memories.

Music: I have a very eclectic musical taste. I like punk rock, classic rock, ska, anything with banjos, many Irish bands,
Books: post-modernist fiction, memoirs, sci-fiction, sociology and historical non-fiction books
Movies: Mockumentaries, smart comedies, ridiculously awesome action flicks (often featuring actors who don't realize they're in their late 40s), horror films (all of them; the good the bad and the ugly),

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to California from Ohio with some friends for about a year. When I lost my job, my friends told me they couldn't let me stay there anymore and so I had to start heading back to Ohio. My best friend decided to head back to Ohio with me. We embarked in an adventure driving and couch surfing across the country. It was an awesome experience, and now that I'm back on my feet I want to start hosting for couch surfers.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've learned alot about living with people and how to make it work. You need someone with the same level of honesty and generosity as you, or else friendships can quickly deteriorate.
