About Me

I'm defending my dissertation on March 13th and will not be hosting until after that. Thanks!!

We only will accept vaccinated guests. If you are unvaccinated, please look elsewhere.

A few things about hosting. I get back a lot of requests so please follow this guidelines!

1) I need 4 days in advance notice for hosting. Unfortunately I cannot accept last minute requests.

2) You must have references if I am going to host you. Get your friends to write you some references if you are new to couchsurfing!

3) You are welcome to use the kitchen but please don't cook meat in the house.

4) People I really like hosting: queer folx, vegans/vegetarians, poly people, ultra runners, yogis. But if you aren't any of those things, you're still welcome. 😊

ABOUT ME

I'm a bisexual woman originally hailing from Maryland (DC metro area), who moved to Boise in April 2016 after living in Olympia, Washington for about 2 years. I work as an Ecologist and am currently getting my PhD. I live with my friend, Carol Petricevic, who is also on couchsurfing (if you also send them a request, you're essentially just asking twice, fyi) and my partner, Brent during the winter.

I love vegan cooking and all things outdoors: whitewater kayaking, swimming, ultra running, backpacking, climbing, and skiing. I also enjoy power yoga and jamming on the piano. I don't spend a lot of time sitting still.

PHILOSOPHY

Do the least harm you possible can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed a lot and with many, many amazing people. Lately I've mostly been hosting. I've organized a few couchsurfing meetups in Olympia.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed in Spain, Norway, and the US. Many wonderful couchsurfing hosts, particularly in Norway where I truly met some of the kindest people. I met my best friends in Olympia via couchsurfing! More recently, I've primarily been hosting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Vegan adventure tour with VegVoyages in Laos. It was a vastly different culture than anything I've ever experienced before. Amazing food, friendly people, and beautiful landscapes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to belay climb, and tie all the knots. I can do some teaching of Spanish/English. I am a great vegan cook and would love to cook for just about anyone. I can play piano and guitar.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook a meal for you or with you. I can bring you out trail running or hiking. I can show you around town.
