I am a 29 year old half British half Dutch girl who grew up in Sri Lanka, and then studied in the UK, Sweden and France. This means I don't really have a "home", but can be comfortable almost anywhere and with almost anyone. I've lived in the Netherlands for almost four years and really enjoy it, though you will often hear me joking about Dutchisms! Although I studied biology, I now work in a sustainability institute where I write about our research for the website, as well as teach on a course about the sustainable development goals and research a little in the field of environmental governance. Otherwise I enjoy live music, hiking, bouldering, cooking new cuisines, and meeting new people and learning about their cultures and interests.

For different reasons over the years, but at this moment because I plan to travel alone to Iran and would love to couchsurf there. I think it will be an amazing way to meet people and share experiences.

I like most dystopian novels and I am currently enjoying Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. I'm not a film-buff, but I have a real soft spot for 80s High School movies like Fast Times at Ridgemont High.My music taste ranges from Sufjan Stevens to Serge Gainsbourg to Booka Shade, and from Belle & Sebastian to Frank Turner to of Montreal.
