About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Work to travel, and live on (not just visit) all of the seven continents.
ABOUT ME
Hey! I'm a 26 year old Canadian male whose ambition is to live on (not just visit) every continent. I just finished 2 years teaching English in China and landed in Australia on December 21st 2011.
If you want to know anything else about me, just ask! I've got some fantastic stories from my travels in Africa and Asia. I've also been all over North America and to Mexico 3 times. After Australia (hopefully 2 years) I want to spend a year each in England, France, and New Zealand. I plan on hitting up Antarctica and South America after that!
PHILOSOPHY
Love God and your neighbor, live life to the fullest, eat, drink, and be merry, do everything in moderation, be healthy!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Participate? Participate in what? I am confused. :p
I will participate in traveling, karaoke, video games, swimming, extreme sports, board and card games, and I'll try (almost) anything once just to say I did!
As a note: I'll try to be polite and not interfere with your life, I'm not looking to take advantage of a host. I don't expect you to provide me with food though if you offer I probably won't refuse unless I'm allergic (onions, chocolate, orange juice and artificial sweetener give me migraines). I'll clean up after myself as best I'm able. Depending on the situation we may even discuss me renting a bed for an extended period, though if you would rather have me as a guest I again certainly wouldn't refuse. If I'm using your dishes I'll help with the washing. If I make a mess and somehow forget about it let me know and I'll clean it up. If you need help with something let me know and if I'm available I would be happy to help.
I'm not looking for a free ride, though I wouldn't mind a free bed for a few nights. I enjoy sharing about my travels and experiences and would be happy to hear about yours.

Interests
Cool things:
Traveling and exercise.
Typical things:
Video games, reading, and some sports.
Nerdy things:
To be honest, I'm quite nerdy. Star Wars, Star Trek, Anime, board games (settlers, carcasonne, Risk, and TI3 are my faves thus far), CCG/TCG's, tabletop gaming, RPG's (I DM), you name it.
Religious things:
I'm a Christian. I have my Bachelor of Theology and could work as a pastor in a Church if I were so inclined. Don't worry, I won't harass you about how you choose to live or your religious inclinations (or lack thereof). I dislike people who do that too.
To elaborate on this:
My favorite alcohol is Baleys, and I have many friend of other religious beliefs (including atheists) and with alternate gender preferences (is that PC?).
To be clear, I'm straight, but I'm accepting of other lifestyles and beliefs even if they don't fit my religious beliefs and I hope that others will accept me in return. I know that Christians can get a bad rep through bad experiences and through history. If you want to discuss my beliefs then please ask, I'm open to discussion and love sharing what I believe (in fact I think it is important to do so), but I don't want to force my beliefs on you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-Lived with a primitive tribe for one month (straw huts, no electricity/telephone/postal system/etc...) in the republic of Chad in Africa. I would be happy to tell you about the funeral, wedding, mass baptism, and Christmas I spent with them.
-Flown a plane, TWICE! (no, I have no pilot's license)
-Studied wu shu kung fu with monks at the Shaolin temple in China.
-Watched a storm come in over the sea while standing on the end of the Great Wall of China.
-Hiked from the basement to the observation level of the highest observation platform in the world (Shanghai Bottle Opener) on foot in the fire escape.
-Met the grandmaster of wu shu in his mountaintop temple in China, after speaking to him he gave me a gift!
-Finally, I have been to Toronto, Niagara Falls, Montreal, Wikwemikong, Calgary, Canmore, New York, Detroit, Tennessee (including Memphis), Austin (Texas), Galeana (mexico), Florida (state in the US), and one day in Paris, France!
Host me for details, please feel invited to ask. I love sharing about my travels.
Teach, Learn, Share
See: Personal philosophy.
Also, Travel. Travel can be a great teacher even for those without higher education. Meeting people from different cultures and different walks of life will grant wisdom to those who are willing to listen, discuss, think critically, and learn.
