About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy Life. Meet lots of people. Share and Listen to stories. Be good at what I do and be a freindly, helpful person along the way
ABOUT ME
So I'm Petros and I'm a social worker from Nottingham. I am an open minded, people person which has been reflected both in my career choice and my love of travelling and meeting new people. I am friendly, connecting and easy going with an optimistic attitude. Always up for a laugh and a joke at my own expense.
My best experiences when I have been travelling have been when I have spent extended periods in one place where I have been lucky enough to stay with people who live there. It makes such a difference. For me travelling is all about the people. So I guess Couch Surfing fits entirely with my philosophy of travelling.
PHILOSOPHY
Love, live, share!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host when I can but at the moment the unpredictable nature of my job makes hosting difficult. More than happy to meet up if that would help you out in anyway.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have surfed on two trips to America and hosted on a couple of occasions here in the UK.
Interests
Obviously I love to travel and go to new places. This aside I am an active person, I like moving fast - preferably on bicycles, exploring, keeping fit (by running, cycling and occasionally playing badminton), I love being outdoors in the fresh air (its better than inside especially if you have a fire),
I also like having some down time as well and I enjoy chilling out, sitting in the sun, reading the paper, spending a lot of time thinking about and then cooking food, eating food with a good wine, enjoying this food and wine with good friends, listening to music, watching music live (preferably in a field with a beer in hand)âÃâ¬Ã¦..well that's mostly what I'm into right not,...oh yeah as well as keeping active I generally love sport, all kinds of sport and I have a very good knowledge of football trivia.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't have a very good memory for all the movies I have watched. The films I have watched the most often are the Big Lebowski and Anchorman. When I was 14 I cried when watching Deep Impact, it was a low moment.
The Alexandra Quartet by Laurence Durrel was the best book I ever read. Woody Guthrie's Bound for Glory. William Dalyrymple.
When people ask me what music I like my immediate answer is to say Bob Dylan. Now I do love Bob and the folky singer songwriter thing in general but there is a whole lot more to it than that. Funk, Soul, Jazz, Rock and Roll, Bands with guitars in (Radiohead, Interpol, that sort of thing), hip hop, that modern electric music can be good as well, basically anything with some rhythm and some nice sounds, so not terribly excited by death metal and gabba.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably my biggest achievement so far has been to teach myself how to start motorbikes on a hill with someone on the back when I had only ridden one once before.
In terms of things I have seen the Himalayas are pretty good, oh I saw Bob Dylan play a few years ago and it was really excellent (I saw him once before and it was really bad).
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I am very good at making cheese sauce. Do you need to learn?
Learn: How to cook more things. Oh and more sports trivia. Jokes that I instantly forget.
Share: The time my nakedness cause a bit of uproar in Amritsar
