About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying not to get bitten by dinosaurs

ABOUT ME

Living in Nijmegen (NL) and spending most time working in a writers collective called 'Loesje', which is great! Living in a nice eco-community. I enjoy cooking and eating with fun people. Also keeping some plants alive, learning light verse poetry, spotting new music bands to fall in love with.

PHILOSOPHY

Many... and somehow they always keep changing.
For now: "He who isn't busy being born is already busy dying."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hadn't registered myself on CS yet, when coming home, I found a Polish CS'er at my door in the middle of the night. He was waiting for my neighbor to let him in...
I phoned my neighbor to open the door and decided to host CS'ers from now on too.

Since then I have hosted several surfers.

Interests

Too much to tell. They come and go. But the constant ones are writing, movies, history, cooking, hiking, taking trains in foreign countries.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies from Jim Jarmusch, Sergio Leone, and I love old movies from the 40's and 50's, like Casablanca and Rear Window.

Music.., newer artists Bonnie Prince Billy, Bill Callahan (smog), Joanna Newsom, Tindersticks. A bit older bands like Nick Cave, Pavement, Songs Ohia. My old men heroes: Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed. Mississippi blues, New Orleans jazz. Though also some old ambient like Brian Eno.

Some of my favorite books are "For whom the bells toll", "Alice in Wonderland", "The adventures of Robinson Crusoe", and the authors George Orwell, Houellebecq, Henrich Boll, Terry Pratchett and of course the Hithchiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One week of hiking through the Scottish Highlands.

Teach, Learn, Share

Creative writing, sharing thoughts about life, the world, music.
Probably so many things...
