About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet new people, experience new cultures, and offer others the same!

ABOUT ME

I'm currently taking a semester off school and thought I'd travel a bit before heading back. I grew up in Toronto, but attend school in Montreal - both great cities with different atmosphere. I'm a political science nut and am usually not afraid to talk politics especially on a comparative basis. Most of my travel destinations are inspired by some measure of political interest (i.e. Northern Ireland, South Africa).

Otherwise, I'd say I'm very easygoing, open to new ideas and relatively independent.

PHILOSOPHY

In everything you do, do it well.

You could be writing a paper, hosting friends or washing dishes but I find you appreciate things much more if you put time and effort into the nuances of everyday life... otherwise, they're not worth doing at all.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Though I'm currently travelling at the moment, I can usually host in either Montreal or Toronto. I do live in a dreadful suburb of Toronto so it might be a nuisance if you plan on hanging around the downtown core. I'll be returning to Montreal in January.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In mid-October '09, a friend and I went to Bretagne (Rennes) and were hosted by a great group of couchsurfers. They showed us around town, took us to a Balkan concert, and gave us a taste of the region's cuisine. This experience was the final omen that prompted me to create an account so I can hopefully do the same. Canada may not have alot of tourist attractions, but its worth a visit to experience its diversity, vast spaces, and friendly people.

Interests

Travel, cinema (especially French nouvelle vague) writing, editing other people's stuff, walking, contemporary art.
