About Me
Hi!
I'm Carin, from Sweden, and I'm currently looking for a place to stay in Minneapolis (early October) and the coast between Portland and San Fransisco late October - as I'll be traveling the northern states of the US the coming months.
I quit my job as an office rat (I know, maybe not the most accurate term, but that's how it felt) and sold my flat about two years ago - and now I'm a yoga teacher and thai yoga massage practitioner. Currently exploring ways to lead my life in a more holistic way and at a slower pace, among people with similar wishes to enjoy life at it's fullest.
Love traveling, exploring, reading, writing, yoga, dance, kayaking, hiking... and the list goes on (:
I'm a vegetarian, non-smoker, friendly and easy going and would love to be part of a community wherever I go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people who actually live in the places I go, to be part of communities, to learn and to grow
Interests
I study yoga and that is a lifetime of work - loving every step even though it's sometimes a sacrifice with some painful insights
Love the outdoors - hiking, kayaking, swimming - forest, mountains and pretty much any kind of water. Learning how to surf is on that list too
I spend a lot of time reading and writing, I find studying languages gives interesting knowledge of the people speaking it

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Janis Joplin - despite all indian mantras and spiritual music I listen to these days Janis will always be my favourite. Along with a variety of different genres, old punk, indie, rock and jazz
Books: everything ever written by my childhood idol Astrid Lindgren (author of Pippi Long-stocking for example...); Eastern Body Western Mind by Anodea Judith; almost anything by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Snorkling off the cost of Mozambique and got to see a whale shark. This huge beautiful animal that from above looks like a giant cuddly toy, that all you want to do is reach down and pet it. So amazing to swim along this majesty, not disturbing just watching and breathing and enjoying being a tiny little person visiting the whale sharks home.
