Hello!

My name is Carissa. I'm a freelance writer, avid adventurer, and native of sunny Southern California. I can never decide what I prefer- the bustle of urban life or the great outdoors. I want to see it all and still find time to read all the Sherlock Holmes stories.

In the recent past, I've lived and studied in Chile, Argentina, and England.

In South America, I lived with a host family, and I visit my friends all across California often, so while I'm new to couch surfing, I am no stranger to being a house guest.

In university, I studied Literature and Art, and I'm currently getting my Masters of the Fine Arts in Creative Writing.

In the summer between earning my bachelors degree and the pursuit of my graduate degree, I made the decision to backpack Europe with my best friend. We are looking to broaden our understanding of the world and its inhabitants. We are couchsurfing because we love the idea of engaging with locals. We are excellent conversationalists, polite, and low-maintenance guests.

Swam in hot springs in the Andes mountain range, stumbled upon a herd of wild llamas in the deserts of Chile, met my favorite British celebrities (Martin Freman and Benedict Cumberbatch) in London!
