About Me

I grew up in New York State in a very small, beautiful area. I've been working with a conservation corps for almost two years now using the skills I've acquired in dry stone masonry tho build and maintain trails. Ask me about it! I love giving the inside scoop on trail building.

I am fairly new to couch surfing but I have friends that swear by it and two great experiences! The impressions that I have gathered from those involved in couch surfing is that they love their cities and they are excited to show you why. It is great to see new cities from the perspectives of people who truly enjoy them.

One of my favorite things to do is to dance. I would go out and dance everyday if I could although nothing technical, I just enjoy being one with the music and feeling free. I also love love love food. I grew up with a chef for a mother and a father who loves to cook as well, so food recommendations are always welcome!

And of course, hiking is part of my daily work and is part off the reason I love my job so much so if you have a favorite hike or walk please share!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always enjoyed traveling and experiencing new things. I can't wait to meet more great people in many more places and couch surfing seems like a perfect place to start!

I am interested in traveling beyond the walls of the United States after my AmeriCorps Service term is over and the couch surfing community feels like a great place to be.

Interests

I love being active: hiking, volleyball, the gym, backpacking, whitewater rafting, biking, ultimate frisbee etc. I am always up for trying new things!

Dancing anywhere: at clubs, in the living room, in the car, in the rain, you name it, simply brings me joy. Oh yes, and that brings me to another topic: I love weather. Sheets of rain, blizzards, wind, clouds just give it all to me :-) For a while there I thought I might end up being a storm chaser...I haven't completely ruled that out yet, but I digress.

I absolutely love food. All food. Everywhere. I am by no means an expert in the culinary arts, but trying new food and new places is a must everywhere I go.

I attend salsa class two times a week and I absolutely adore the people that I get to share my time with there.

I am never caught without a book and my music and I appreciate suggestions on both :-) I grew up playing cards and boardgames. As for cards: rummy, spit, speed, Phase 10 and, of course, go fish were the favorites and as for boardgames we stuck to Risk, Mousetrap, Sorry, Monopoly, and many more that apparently have no want to be remembered currently.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am definitely one of those people that cannot pick a favorite, but I love being introduce to new artists, authors, and genres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing to me: I moved across the country, to the opposite coast, so I could be involved in an organization dedicated to helping children. I was apprehensive about being able to meet people but, in the midst of this apprehension, I met a well-established group of amazing, active, and caring people who gladly accepted me and pulled me into their group. I have been in California for 7 months and I have been so many places, seen so many things and done so much in this short time. I really owe my experiences to all of the great people that I have had the chance to meet so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you basic salsa :-)

Learn: I am up for anything! Learning constantly keeps me going!

Share: I am easy-going and helpful. If you need something and I can give it, I will.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am up for nearly anything :-) and I enjoy exploring especially with a local's input!
I will help cook/clean etc. Whatever help is accepted I will give. I love to bake :-) so if you love food (especially dessert!) I can help you out with that!
