I am a happy go lucky kind of person, very down to earth and love to socialize. I am usually the mother hen of the group as I am caring and considerate to those who I take under my wing and vice a versa. When I am not playing mother hen, I like to have a good time, be the life of the party and I love to dance and sing! You will likely hear me singing the shower, cooking or cleaning and asking for the occasional request when I have exhausted all my favorites. I wear my heart on my sleeve, honest and approachable if not shy at some points but always willing to be helpful. I can be a bit of a comedian sometimes as I believe a smile and a laugh is the best remedy for life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always had the desire to travel, but never had the opportunity due to family not having much if any disposable income and not being confident to go at it alone. I want to see the world but I am too much of a people person to do it alone, so couch surfing will give me both the freedom to travel but also the companionship that I crave to do it. Also as a tourist you will never know some of the hidden gems that the locals would know, having someone who knows the area

Interests

I have too many interests and hobbies to support one life time. But the main ones are Music as I am a classically train pianist and flutist. Though, more of a hobby now, I have been playing for so long and it is a great form of escapism for me and will always be a big part of my life. I love the Theatre almost as much as music, everything from musicals to adaptations of ancient works to modern plays watching actors live on stage sharing a form of story is so immersive.
I am currently training in Taekwondo and Jujitsu and learning the benifits of discipline and control over ones own body.
Art - I have a huge appreciation for art in all of its forms from architecture to tapestries and paintings.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite type of music is so varied. As a musician there are elements in all types of music that I enjoy, but my playlist is littered with RnB, Jazz, Michael Jackson and what I can only describe as random.
I love action and comic book movies. I am bit of a geek so will enjoy anything to do with video games, comic books and fantasy.
My book genre of choice will always be fantasy. When reading I like to escape and explore a different world and the fantasy genre allows me to do that. My favorite author is a little know German by the name of Garth Nix, closely followed my TRL Tolken and JK Rowling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Played the flute in an Orchestra but really need to do something a bit more amazing than that like swim with dolphins or sky dive.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to teach someone as much as I know about playing the piano, flute and bits of Shakespeare.
I would love to learn another language from someone
And I would like to share some of my life and experiences with like minded people who will eventually become friends.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I would like to share is the non stereotype image of an independent black woman and all the cultural and knowledge that comes with it.
What I would also like to share is some of the great stories I have heard through theatres and stuff that I have written myself.
And lastly not forgetting the experience of being a guest/host and making a friendship.
