About Me

I am an easy-going person with a very childlike sense of adventure and fun. I love meeting new people, learning new things and finding new places. Everything new, basically. And swings. I DO love swings.

At the moment and for over the past 3 years I have been working on board Cruise Ships. I find It is a great way to get to see the world and take a glance at places where I would never have gone otherwise (and making some money while at it). The downside of it is that you only get to be in a port for the day or maybe 2 in very few cases, so it does not give you the chance to see the place very thoroughly.

I have been living with all kinds of people since I opened my wings and left home, so that made me a very flexible and adaptable person when it comes to sharing a place. These people are nowadays some of my best friends.

I really enjoy meeting new people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, I believe everybody is different and we all have something to learn from each other. I love holding long conversations over dinner or drinks about philosophies and beliefs and life, the universe and everything.

PHILOSOPHY:

Turn and face the strange.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I plan to see as much of the world as my time on earth and budget and physical conditions allow me to. I believe this might be a great tool for that purpose.

I am the kind of tourist that likes to just walk for hours, take the backstreets, mingle with locals and just hang around. I am not into super-busy itineraries and fancy hotels and waking up at 6am to run around all day trying to catch a snapshot of this or that landmark between hundreds or thousands of tourists trying to achieve the exact same thing.

Walking around a particularly picturesque neighbourhood, having a little pic-nic in a nice park (with a little stop at the playground, maybe), seeing the sights, taking a little boat somewhere, eating street food while doing all these things, pub crawling, dancing to local bands. That's my kind of tourism. And I'd much rather do this with a friend (as potential as it may be) than on my own.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I listen to Rock, mostly, but I can enjoy any music as long as it has a soul to it. Love dancing. If a good song is playing, I need to stop the conversation and probably sing along. You can sing along with me too. Will never say no to a good live jam session. And there is always a song in the back of my head, but those are usually pop hits, unfortunately they do that to me.

Listening to Daniel Johnston ATM. Lovely guy.

Movies: Quite a Tarantino fan. Wes Anderson, David Lynch, Tim Burton are good friends as well. Can never go wrong with sci-fi. Further education on the subject is welcome.

Shows: Game of Thrones (even though I definitely prefer the book version), The walking dead, Breaking bad, Orange is the new black, Weeds(Although I have not finished it), Twin peaks, How I met your mother and The Big Bang Theory (In small doses), Friends (never gets old).

Books: The Hitchiker's guide to the galaxy, 1984, Brave new world, A confederacy of dunces, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Venus in Furs, Tokyo Blues, A clockwork orange, Lord of the flies, The Catcher in the rye, Franny and Zooey..I know I am forgetting many, but that's quite a representative list of my book collection.
J.D Salinger, Fedor Dostoevsky, Charles Bukowski, Simone de Beauvoir, Oscar Wilde, Nick Hornby are some of my favourite writers. Stephen King creeps me out in a way I kinda like for some reason.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam with wild dolphins in NZ.
Climbing the Great Wall of China.
Midnight skinny dipping in Mykonos.
And a few dresses =)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach? I guess I can teach a few recipes. I might not be the best cook but I do have a few specialties, and when I do cook, I mean it. Spanish as well. And I'll tell you everything about living free.

Learn anything, everything, constantly. From people, or places or myself. There's always more.

Share music, experiences, moments, drinks, laughter, and material stuff as well, I say put it all out there and karma will retribute.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Brazil, China, Croatia, Egypt, Fiji, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Spain, Turkey, United States, Uruguay, Vanuatu, Viet Nam
