About Me

I've recently moved to a small cozy farm on the Swedish west coast, 5 kms south of Hamburgsund. The farm is not active as I'm working 100%, but I'm aiming at having some animals like chickens and sheep, apart from managing a small food garden and cutting wood for the winter. I have a very traditional Swedish house, a barn, a guest house and a wood-fired sauna that are all situated between the coastal road and a granite mountain, next to a little stream. The area here is very beautiful, especially the archipelago. Lots of great granite trad climbing and bouldering too!

I've done two major bicycle touring trips apart from backpacking throughout the years. In 2015, I got back from a 2-year long trip that took me all the way from Sweden to South Africa. I went through sandstorms in the Sahara desert, got suspected of being a terrorist in Nigeria and managed to reach the most remote jungles of Congo/DRC . You can check out my blog for more information and inspiration: http://www.swedentoafrica.com.

That was my second bike trip. In 2009-2010 I cycled across South America, from Argentina to Colombia. It was absolutely amazing, with all the interesting people, all the beautiful nature, and the actual physical movement itself. So that's why I decided to do a second trip, which turned out to be even more fascinating! But now, I've finally "settled" and bought this piece of land and it feels great.

I've always had a passion for exploring the unknown. This curiosity of mine is what drives me. Our planet is vast, and there's endless things to see in comparison to the time we spend here. To me, the greatest way to travel is by using a bicycle. You can cover long distances and also get close to everything - nature, people and yourself. Try it!

Throughout the years, I've managed to mix travels with studies. I have a M.Sc. degree in Software Engineering and work (mainly remotely) as a software developer for a consulting company in Gothenburg.

If the guest house is not free, there's always room for camping anywhere on the land and I can always guide you to a nice spot. Touring cyclists, climbers and Spanish/French/Portuguese-speaking people are extra welcome to visit :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people from different cultures and share experiences, and I've had lots of wonderful encounters through Couchsurfing!

At home, I find Couchsurfing like an alternative way of traveling. By bringing people who are on the road into my own living room for a night or two, I become part of their journey, and can mentally travel to a place found in their stories.

I enjoy meeting like-minded people, do outdoor-activities together, talk about travels over a glass of wine, laugh and cook.
