About Me

Hello friend! I am getting back into traveling and couch surfing since Covid started. I am vaccinated and boosted but not worried if you are or not. Excited to connect with cool people and see new places! I am a musician and my solo project is “On Tone Music.” Hopefully I’m playing near you or finding venues to perform at! Nickname: Compost Carl.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So that I can travel with thrift while meeting people that can share the experience of their area and culture. So that I can share the beautiful place and people I live with to the world. To expand the network of positive change that is coming and already here.

Interests

Living, learning, playing music, eating, sleeping, staying fit, reading, camping/backpacking, climbing, designing/building ecological structures (tiny houses 🙌)

Music, Movies, and Books

Classic rock, bluegrass, folk, reggae, ska, hip-hop, rap, most anything but contemporary USA pop.
1984, Animal Farm, and others...- George Orwell; Planetwalker- John Francis; Capitalism vs. the Climate- Naomi Klein; The Foxfire Book- Elliot Wigginton + peers;

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I fed 80 people in my town with one dinner that was saved from going to the compost. I had much help from wonderful volunteers that collected/transported/reprepared food safely from the college dining hall and served students and people from the town.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will teach how to play instruments!
I will teach how to do a head stand. I want to learn how to do a cartwheel and hand stand.
I will teach how to build with clay, sand, and straw.
I will teach how to make sauerkraut. I want to learn how to make cheese.
I am always down to play music and make food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Eagerness to listen and learn! Super-human dishwashing abilities and desires, attentive ears, good laughs and conversation, music (I love to listen and play any instrument you would like me to).

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Myanmar, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
