About Me

My name is Carl and I grew up in the Bay Area nearly my whole life. I am now living in San Francisco and getting ready to apply to grad school this upcoming Spring. I want to become an English teacher so I am going back to school to get my credential and masters.

I love doing just about anything outdoors. Hiking, camping, beaches, parks, swimming, you name it! I will likely enjoy it (with the exception of running! haha). I work out regularly and try to take good care of my body both mentally and physically, that is something that I really value. I love to travel, and at the age of 25, I am trying to do what I can to explore the world while I am still in my younger years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

With that said, Couchsurfing is a great resource for me to use to allow me to meet great people from different countries, and get exposure to new cultures, getting the 'local feel', rather than feeling like a complete tourist wherever I go. It also just seems like a great opportunity to meet people and make great connections in different places. I would love to be that person for someone as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE music. I have always been a huge music person. I really enjoy going to concerts/ shows and I am almost always listening to music at any chance I get it. I love everything from classic rock, to alternative, electronic music, hip-hop, and the list goes on!

My favorite band of all time (if I had to choose) is Led Zeppelin!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two summers ago ('15) was the first time I left the country and I did a 5 week backpacking trip through Europe. I had SO much fun. I can't wait to explore it again at some point.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to be an English teacher as I mentioned. One of my goals on the side is to also learn Spanish. Thinking ahead, once I complete grad school with my credential in English I want to move to Spain for a couple years to teach English over there while finishing up on my Spanish. I think that would be a great opportunity.
