About Me

Hey,

My latest update, I'm now in the USA and Canada travelling alone around the coastal regions in one big epic loop! I am from England but living in New Zealand until next year, where that will change to Australia where I can host if all goes well.

I like to sing and I'm getting better every day, yes, I would love to play you a song or two :)

The dream is to own much larger camper vehicle and I'd love to host anyone who'd be willing to camp around the coast or sleep on the small sofa or floor of the vehicle. I have no idea how big it'll be yet but I have an idea and if I have one it'll be my primary home while I'm in Aus. There'll be tents and camping gear too so it'll be pretty nice overall.

I caught the travel bug hard, sold everything I own to find people and places in the present moment while making friends along the way.

I can be a bit of an old soul but I "don't wanna miss a thang", so I've got loads of energy, I'm open minded, generally quite talkative and enjoy intellectual conversations. Other times I still appreciate saying nothing at all too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to travel and make the most of every experience and each new person I meet. This site allows me to be in the presence of good natured and generous people who also have a story or two to tell. At the same time I get to sleep safely and continue my wayward journey.

I like to listen to stories and I always take something on from each new story I hear.

I have loved staying with guests so much and it's got much more value than staying in hostels.
Though I'm always prepared to book a hostel, I value a host over anything and appreciate the ability to spend time with them as you all are generally kind and thoughtful people who know and love your city better than I do.
For the past and future hosts, I'm eternally grateful for what you've shared and will share with me.

Interests

I like music in almost every form. I like to write it and write about it. I play guitar, piano and I sing.
I'm also an avid nerd, I got into robotics casually and its that kind of tinkering that always attracts me. But that electronics also translates into my music.
I love dancing. The moment a musical notion permeates the atmosphere, I'll start moving. Parties are where my soul flies.

I generally like to be active and creative. If there's something to challenge me or something to learn, I'm interested!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love modern hard rock and 70's prog rock but I've never been exclusive, I love all kinds of music if it sounds good at the right time.
Favourite artists include Aphex Twin, Incubus, Tool, Karnivool and Radiohead.
Composers: Chopin, Tchaikovsky and recently Sir Anthony Hopkins! (As you may have noticed, I like waltz)
Also Nobuo Uematsu and Andrew Lloyd Webber. (I'm into a bit of modern day opera style composition)

Books: The Martian (awesome book), The Diamond Age, The Dark Tower

Movies: Anything Sci-fi, all of Quentin Tarantino and Shane Meadows, any avant garde, Man Eats Dog.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sold everything I own down to one 15kg backpack.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people how to play guitar, I'd love to be vocally coached in return.

I have many deep rooted philosophical ideas that I'm always challenging too, so learning from that and sharing ideas would be good.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, listen, talk and may even sing for you.
Also, if you've got something broken that you need fixing, I can help, this includes but not exclusive to machines like vehicles and computers, I enjoy doing it and you'll probably laugh at how I get so into it.
Broken stuff is just like one of life's Sudoku puzzles :P
