Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my profile! Just a bit about myself- I'm 26 years old and engaged to the most amazing person I've ever met in my life. I've spent most of my life in suburban cities doing suburban stuff, and I'm ready for something new and exciting in my life. That's why we've decided to take on the world together. Músicas, Filmes e Livros

My favorite contemporary artist is Death Cab for Cutie, my favorite classical artist is JS Bach. I also like the Gorrillaz, Weezer, Daft Punk, Tenacious D, Mozart, Deadmau5, Infected Mushroom, and many others. I don't like all kinds of music, as many are fond of saying, but I'm open to new experiences. If I haven't heard it before I'm open to trying it.

I like Quentin Tarantino movies a lot, Star Wars (the original trilogy, not the prequels), war movies, action movies, spy flicks, westerns, martial arts (You were taken from us too soon, Bruce!) movies, comedies, and etc.

Alas, I do not read as many books these days as I used to. I still read some, but not as much as I might like. Hectic schedules and the like. A few of the books I've read or listened to in the last couple months: The antidote; Happiness for People Who Can't Stand Positive Thinking (It was OK, but not everything it said did I agree with), The Aubrey-Maturin novel series by Patrick O'Brian (my favorite book series of all time! I've read it so many times), Some stuff by Christopher Hitchens, The Handmaids Tale, Darkly Dreaming Dexter (The book upon which the showtime series Dexter is based- They're both okay in their own ways, but neither quite achieves excellence.) and some of the Sherlock Holmes books. Not sure what I'm going to be reading next.

I joined the Navy when I was 19. It changed my life in many ways, some for the good and others for the bad. I learned an strong sense of honor and duty and morals and work ethic and courage and respect, but I also forgot who I was and became very depressed for a very long time. It is something I still struggle with to this day, but I wouldn't trade that experience for anything.

I know a little bit about a whole lot of stuff. I'm not an expert in any field but my curiosity extends to so many that it is impractical to try to list them. I had a long conversation at a pub the other night about a dairy farmer, just basically about milk in all its varieties and how he grew up and what he thought was wrong with today's dairy industry and so on. We talked for about 3 beers before I realized it was getting too late.

I like cooking and I'm usually pretty good at it. I'm very interested in learning new recipes and I don't mind doing dishes afterwards. I used to be pretty good with computer software and hardware in high school, I can set up a network or install a printer or manage software installations, I can also use word processors. I don't mind a bit of hard work for a good cause.
