About Me

Hi there! I'm Carl, born in the vibrant city of Taipei, Taiwan, and raised in the beautiful Philippines. My life's journey has taken me to Bangkok, Thailand, where I moved during the pandemic. I thrive on the energy of new experiences and am passionate about connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. My friends describe me as reliable and outgoing, and I enjoy adapting to different vibes, whether I'm being my introverted or extroverted self. I'm always up for trying new things and living life to the fullest, and I find joy in the little adventures that come my way.

In my free time, you'll find me playing badminton or volleyball, experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes, or exploring new eateries as a dedicated foodie. Photography is a way for me to immortalize my life experiences, capturing moments that tell the story of my adventures. Recently, I've been getting into fitness and would love to meet like-minded folks to encourage each other on this journey. Traveling is a significant part of my life—I've visited 12 countries mainly in the APAC region, and my short-term goal is to visit all continents, with a long-term dream of exploring as many countries as possible. I'm particularly excited about venturing through South America, Europe, and Africa, and I'm eager to make meaningful connections with people from these regions. Let's create some amazing memories together!

Music, Movies, and Books

It is hard for me to have favorites. I simply like what resonates to me at a given point in time regardless of genres!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done was spontaneously booking a one-way ticket to Fiji after seeing an ad that captivated me. What started as a whim turned into a few months of unforgettable experiences, including volunteer work that allowed me to connect deeply with the local community. Coming from Southeast Asia, Fiji is not a common travel destination, so my friends and family were quite shocked by my decision. Another memorable adventure was escaping the Philippines during the onset of the pandemic and relocating to Thailand, a move that was meant to be temporary but turned into a permanent stay. Additionally, despite not knowing how to swim, I took a leap of faith and went snorkeling in the open ocean. It was a terrifying yet exhilarating experience, made all the more memorable by the sighting of a sea turtle that helped calm my nerves. This adventure taught me to embrace the unknown and find beauty in taking risks.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy to teach you how to play badminton and volleyball if you're interested, and I can also share the languages I know, giving you a taste of different cultures. In return, I'm eager to learn your language and hear tips and guides on the countries you've visited. There's so much to gain from everyone's unique experiences and perspectives. When visiting, I'd love to share some snacks or items from my home country. I'm always open to exchanging travel stories and learning from each other's cultures and traditions, and sharing a good laugh together would be fantastic. If you're adventurous, I'd be delighted to cook for you and let you try some new recipes!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always love to share a piece of my home with those I meet, so you can expect some snacks or unique items from the country I come from. If the trip is planned in advance, I’m happy to bring specific things for you—just let me know what you'd like! As a guest, I pride myself on being organized and neat, so you won’t have to worry about tidiness. I'm an easy-going person who’s open to anything, making me a hassle-free guest. Plus, I’d be delighted to return the favor and host you when you decide to visit my home. Looking forward to making our time together enjoyable and memorable!
