About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm gearing up for the biggest geographic change in my life: a cross-country move from East to West, planning to settle down in the Western Washington state region.
ABOUT ME
Most people know me as a bit of a goofball and a workaholic. I've spent the past several years trying to grow as a comic creator and all around artist. So far I've been lucky enough to make rent through my art, but I look forward to the day when I'm putting all my energy into the project's I'm most passionate about.
PHILOSOPHY
Though I'm passionate about a lot of things, I hate being preachy about anything. It sounds a bit corny, but I'm interested in learning, experiencing and passing on as much as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can't provide a couch for others right now, but I'm looking forward to giving my hosts wonderful experiences through conversation, shared stories, and art
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Definitely positive so far; I've had a chance to share my drawing knowledge with an aspiring young artist in Georgia, and got a wonderful tour of downtown historic Charlottesville.
Interests
I'm absolutely passionate about art, storytelling, and the combination of the two in the medium of comics. I tend to be interested in anything old and/or from the natural world.
I'm fascinated by all types of religions, philosophies and mythologies. Personally I tend towards agnostic humanism with some interest in taoism (a cliched combination I know).

Music, Movies, and Books
It'll take forever if I try to be thorough, but here's some of the top ones:
Music: The Beatles, Jimmi Hendrix, Gogol Bordello, Leonard Cohen, Scissor Sisters, Earth Wind and Fire, The Knife, anything with a good 80's synth sound.
Movies: anything at all by Hayao Miyazaki or Studio Ghibli, Mad Max Fury Road, Jurassic Park, 12 Angry Men, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Rashomon, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Professional, Kill Bill, and many more.
Books: anything by Haruki Murakami; "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", and the Graphic novel work of Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Brian Vaughan, and Evan Dahm.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While going cross country with college friends in a modified school bus we stopped in the Badlands. Unlike other parks, they let you wander free whereever you want, which resulted me in climbing along some precarious ledges and sliding down steep hills.
When visiting family in Australia we were able to able to visit Uluru (Ayers Rock). I still remember how the light at sunset would make the whole thing glow like it had a bright red lightbulb inside it.
While in Thailand the group I was with visited Suhkothai, the ruins of the ancient capital. It abounded with beautiful statues of the Buddha, from the big to the VERY big.
Teach, Learn, Share
Yes! This box is perfect for me. As I travel I'm hoping to pass on impromptu drawing lessons for anyone with an interest.
A lot of people enjoy making art but have misconceptions about how artists work and what they can or cant do. I'd be thrilled if I could introduce the joy of just putting lines on paper to some new people.
