Overview
About Me
I am a laid back girl living in Amsterdam and studying social sciences. My name is Carla and I'm traveling with my friend named Kim. While we were both born in South America (she was born in Peru and I was born in Chile) we both moved to the Netherlands when we were quite young. We are both also half dutch so that explains why we moved to the Netherlands with our families.
Next to the Netherlands I also lived in Spain for some years when I was a child (I still am at heart).
We like to chill and relax but we also enjoy some adventure and partying.
I am vegetarian and Kim is vegan.
While we love to have time to ourselves, we are always down for a good time and some nice convesations with our hosts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Going to hostels can be nice, but I want to experience something new. I was introduced to couchsurfing thanks to a friend. We couchsurfed together at another dutch city and had such a fun time. It really was something I will remember. Hanging out with a locals can give a less touristic feeling and that is what I am looking for.
Next to that I would like to get to know different people. I love the Pink Floyd quote : 'All you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be', and I think that getting to know different people with different world views is a way of broadening my life.
Interests
I love beautiful architecture, art (I really like Miró and Picasso, I even have a Picasso tattoo), fashion (mostly vintage/second hand, I try to avoid fast fashion), heavy music and learning about different cultures.
Right now I am learning how to sew and make my own clothing.
I love going to music shows.
I am open minded and like to discuss social issues, that's why I study social sciences haha
I work at Lush, an environmentally/animal friendly cosmetics shop. I am also quite interested in that world.
Oh and I looooooveeee food.

Music, Movies, and Books
Although I can enjoy lot of different types of music, I would say that my absolute favorite is psychadelic/stoner/doom metal and hardcore punk.
When I was little I was really into reading fantasy books, but when I grew older I stopped reading. Now I am trying to get back at it again. For example I bought The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho to read while traveling. I ofcourse have to read some stuff for university, so I like stuff written by social scientist such as Bauman,
I am lowkey really into anime (my favourites are Neon Genesis Evangelion and Berserk) or cheesy/inspiring movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hope we can fill this one in after our trip. Otherwise I can tell some fun stuff I have done to my hosts.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We are friendly and hope we can make our hosts feel great while spreading positivity and sharing knowledge and experiences.
Also we are always down to cook a great meal (with local products).
