About Me

Photography, cinema, music, cooking and theatre are some of my current passions (though not necessarily in this order.) I like to travel and I'm always open to make new friends. For me, one of the nicest things when travelling is to discover places with local people and to be able to (respectfully) enjoy their culture, traditions and landscapes. My home is in the beautiful Barcelona, the city where I grew up and in which I'm currently pursuing a PhD (related to satellite systems engineering and software design).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because there are still many places that are unknown to me, and many people I still have to meet.

Music, Movies, and Books

I consider myself quite eclectic, specially when it comes to movies and music. Some would say I'm a film buff and a melomaniac, but knowing people who really are, seems unfair to be called one. I certainly enjoy a wide spectrum of music genres and styles (nowadays mostly classic and modern jazz/afrobeat/soul, and amazing club/electronic bands and some DJ's). In my list of favourite music I'd write names like "James Blake", "Nicolas Jaar", "The xx", "Floating Points", "alt-J", "Bon Iver", "Radiohead", "Erykah Badu", "GoGo Penguin", "Kamasi Washington" or Gilles Peterson's BBC6 World Wide programme.

In the movies I've been thrilled by "A Clockwork Orange", "Blade Runner" (the director's cut, of course) or "Pulp Fiction"; deeply moved by "Her", "Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind" or "Melancholia"; strongly appalled by "Antichrist"; touched by "American Beauty", "Lost in Translation" or "Match Point"; I learned an awful lot from "Breathless" and I've been filled with extreme laughter by "Monthy Python and the Holy Grail", "Coffee and Cigarettes" and "Four Rooms".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the lab where I work as graduate researcher, we've built and operated a small satellite.
