Overview
About Me
My name is Carles, I am from Ibiza (Spain), I have studied Gastronomy for 4 years, 2 years in Ibiza and 2 in Barcelona. With 19 years I left my beloved island to settle more than 5 years in Barcelona. Returning some summer to earn money and continue studying. I have worked almost 2 years of sushiman and I did several courses of: food pairing, wine tasting, bartender, cut Iberian ham, Mediterranean cuisine...
I have played 11 years of basketball and after that I have been a referee for 6 years to earn extra money (it is difficult!!).
As a kid I loved nature, I lived every summer and Christmas in the forest house when we had vacations at school. Many times I made small camping and I escaped to make some adventure. Already, more older, I have continued doing but in Catalonia, where I have visited many places.
Tired of a European life and its consequences, I decided to save money to make a trip that still does not have a return ticket, I left November 2016 by bicycle, on the way... as far as possible, and so on, with another mentality the one that left home and discovered new horizons day by day.
After living 2 years by bike and 1 year living in the Philippines, I returned to Spain, where I did the season and enjoy winter now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We consider that one of the most beautiful ways to get to know a place is to be with the local people. They always show you things that do not appear in the guides, quiet places, authentic places, the real food of the place (important note), traditional ways of making crafts and we always find a special magic that every adventurer looks for in his trip.
Also as a food lover, I love being able to share food recipes and if you want... may ... cook for you!
