Hi there! My name is Carley. I'm a 28 year old Canadian woman interested in traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing various cultures and environments in an ingenuous, sincere setting. I'm interested in learning about as much as I possibly can, while experiencing the beauty and benevolence found in people, and this wonderful planet.

I enjoy traveling because it helps me keep a life balance and creates meaningful relationships with amazing people. I've studied and worked in the art, design and architecture world for nearly 10 years and I'm always intrigued by the built environment and the display of creative endeavors. I earned my degree in Interior Design and I am based in Calgary, Alberta but I also do freelance design work remotely.

I'm a resilient person who's interested in living simply and honestly, meeting excited and genuine people, and pursuing a life of happiness and integrity. I don't require much, other than safe dwellings and a good internet connection! I am committed to being a reliable, trustworthy inhabitant of your property, while honouring your space, and I'm truly grateful to have the opportunity to stay with you.

I'm also an avid animal lover, and the owner of a 2-1/2 yr. old energetic collie-kelpie X named Cooper. He's my baby! We typically spend hours a week at the off leash park here in Calgary or hiking in the mountains as I have a deep appreciation for the natural environment and the great outdoors. I love being outside, living an active lifestyle, and finding my peace by walking/running, painting, cooking, and gardening. I'm a motivated and adventurous person who becomes energized and inspired by exploring unfamiliar landscapes, being around positive people and experiencing the beauty of spontaneity. I try to live in the present moment, embracing unforeseen experiences and challenges that arise, as I know it's all part of growth and the beauty of life.

I like the idea of couch surfing because I don't believe traveling has to cost a ton of money and consist of contrived and fabricated settings. I'm way more interested in getting to know a city by talking to locals and experiencing real neighborhoods, comprised of the actual people who make that place what it is. Hotels are stuffy, disingenuous and simply not very appealing to me. Along with staying in an authentic setting, I'm thrilled to meet and possibly get to know other more good-hearted people all over the world. I'd love to learn about the customs of various cultures and gain perspective through having interactions with real people.

I like to listen to live music, visit art galleries and coffee shops, hike, paint, re-finish furniture, explore new cities, read and hang out with people. I enjoy cooking and experiencing different types of cuisine and I always enjoy a good bon fire.
