My name is Carlijn Roovers, I'm a 21 year old student living in Amsterdam normally, but at the moment living in Istanbul for 5 months for Erasmus programme. When traveling I'm actually interested in anything from culture, to nature to food. I like to try everything and always up for new things or unexpected adventures!

I am on couchsurfing, because when I go to a new country I think the best way to experience it is with a little help from a local! I love to meet people from different corners of the world and to learn about their different views of life. I think this is actually the best thing about traveling. Couchsurfing (besides the fact that it is a good way to save money ;)) can provide me with this service perfectly!

In my gap year after high school I traveled for 5 months through Southeast Asia (Thailand, Laos, Cambodja, Malaysia, Indonesia); right now I'm living in Istanbul for 5 months, because I'm doing my Erasmus programme at Bogazici Universitesi.
