I want to see more of the world, and luckily I'm fortunate enough to work in a field that gives me the flexibility to do so. I also want to meet new people from different places in order to learn more about myself and the world I live in. I've lived in Columbus for most of my life and I feel a very strong urge to go out and experience new things.

I'm trying to experience new things and this seems like a great way to do that.

Interests

I'm a musician at heart. I currently work at a startup company (Hot Chicken Takeover), which is challenging and fun, but my end goal is to play in a touring band and write music full time. If I visit, we should go to a concert, and if it's a local band, that's even better. I also love sports and trying new foods, especially if they are a regional specialty.

Movies: Interstellar and anything sci-fi, but I'm also a sucker for comedies

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At Home: My previous band, which was just called Carlin Guthrie, had a song in rotation on CD102.5, Columbus' Alternative Radio Station. We were also written about in USA Today College, which was a pretty cool experience.

Abroad: While visiting Canada one summer years ago, I was lucky enough to fly a small float plane above the lakes in northern Ontario. I just wish I would have remembered to bring my camera.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing info about music, and I'm also a part time hockey coach, so if you'd like to learn to play or just learn to skate, I can help with that.

If you visit Columbus, we have some of the best restaurants in the country, and I would be happy to show you around. I live within walking distance of many of them, and I work on business planning and startup activities for the highest rated restaurant in Columbus (Hot Chicken Takeover, via Yelp!).

What I Can Share with Hosts

- Entertainment - I almost always travel with a guitar and love playing with other people.
- Food - I'm a decent cook and can definitely help in the kitchen (especially if you give me a recipe haha).
- General - I will always be respectful of my surroundings and grateful for the opportunity to see new places. That doesn't mean we can't have a good time though!
