About Me

Hi, im Carlos, from Venezuela. I am 26 years old and I want to become a writer -Altough like the master J. Borges said "I am more proud of the pages I've read than the ones I've written".

I am a very honest person and once there's trust, a very outgoing one too. Also, I love to read articles about sociopolitics, literature, astronomy, science and languages; and to write short essays about philosophy or linguistics in my personal blog. But, on the other hand, I'm a sucker for PC-Gaming, Anime/Manga and dogs.

I was already through half of a Classical Philology degree at the "Universidad de Los Andes", back in Venezuela, when I was given a scholarship to learn German for 1 year in Regensburg.

I continue to learn German at the Regensburg Universität, and so long, I've had such a great experience in the city that I decided I would like to live and study in it. So I am preparing myself to begin some other bachelor like "English Linguistics" or "German-Spanish Studies".

I'm learning how to survive abroad and by myself, and it's been an interesting ride.

I'm always searching for new things to learn and new methods to improve the already known ones. I read a lot and I try to write at least one weekly essay (in spanish) about my thoughts on philosophical, political, cultural or linguistic topics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm studying German at the Regensburg Universität and preparing myself for the "Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang" (DSH); and until that goal is over, most of my couchsurfing activity will be bureocracy, tests in other Unis, and visa related one all over Germany.

At the moment, I don't have the means to give shellter to anyone, but in the future I'll be looking foward to do so.

Interests

I spend an average of 2 hours a day in my PC, maybe more when I get hooked up in some serie and/or anime. Prior to my literature studies I tried to get trough Computer Science but failed at high level maths. Anyway, I love computer science and logical sequences, but I cannot grasp programming and math good enough. Language and linguistics are my things. Altough I believe that an equilibrium between science and humanities is a must for a properly and objective development of the intellect (and same applies for larger or abstract entities, such as countries or society).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my works as a ghostwriter is already published and it's always funny to see it at the bookstore. That was the work that drove me into studying Literature. Sadly and for obvious reasons I can't share the name of the book, it's only printed back in Venezuela, but we're already looking to upload it to online platforms.

Teach, Learn, Share

I tend to help others improve their writing (in spanish, mostly), doing essays and correcting texts. I also like to make people laugh (without forcing it), and to answer questions about the facts of life and the universe, and if I don't have a clue, I'll search it with you.

I'm also the guy who gives excellent relationships advices but remains single... haha, well, sometimes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sadly nothing at the present moment. I don't have the infrastructure nor the means to host anybody.
